Back on the Parenthood train (since I just watched it for the first time): I have to say that this movie reminded me how much I love Martha Plimpton. Granted, as one poster stated before, she's not conventionally pretty. But who cares? She's unique looking. And she is hilarious. Comedy gold. I can't think of many other people who could deliver the "I wouldn't live with you if the world were covered in piss and you lived in a tree!" line with such fabulous disdain.
And really, I love her in every movie I've seen her in. Goonies. 200 Cigarettes. And my all-time favorite, Pecker. ("Oh, it's okay, I work in a gay bar; we call everybody Mary!" "No teabagging at the Fudge Palace!"). YMMV.
That Martha. She's good for many a laugh.

The "I wouldn't live with you if the world were flooded with piss and you lived in a tree" line is one of my favorite movie lines ever. She was fantastic in that movie! And really, I love her in every movie I've seen her in. Goonies. 200 Cigarettes. And my all-time favorite, Pecker. ("Oh, it's okay, I work in a gay bar; we call everybody Mary!" I went back over the thread to check that two of my favorite scene stealers really have never been mentioned yet . So here I am now to shake my pompoms for Richard E. Grant and Jean Reno. And yes, not only are they great actors I find them hot as hell, too (beady eyes and hooked nose and all).

Oh yes, Richard E. Grant! I loved his scenes in Sense & Sensibility.

All the spraying and wiping of the plants, the quarts of milk, the inability to guess famous people (the skit where Mathilda dresses up as Charlie Chaplin, Madonna, and Marilyn Monroe and he can't guess any of them but finally gets Gene Kelly). At the end of the movie, when he meets up with the narcs who killed Mathilda's family--especially this line: "No women, no kids."

I must have blinked during those scenes because I don't remember him in that movie. Or was it a different version?

Richard E. Grant is hilarious and a fantastic writer in addition to being a fab actor (even if he wasn't in Sense and Sensibility, he steals the scene wherever he goes) -- check out his book With Nails: The Film Diaries of Richard E Grant. I loved Jean Reno in his role as the exasperated cop in French Kiss.

If you get the chance, watch the "Hob Nosh" series, a spoof/satire on all the haute cuisine cooking programmes. He is absolutely hilarious in that.

This is my first time in this thread so be gentle. Here are a few of my favorite scene stealers:
Thomas Haden Church in George of the Jungle. Matthew Lillard in She's All That. Shirley MacLaine in Steel Magnolias. Spike Lee in She's Gotta Have It. Dave Chappelle in Robin Hood: Men in Tights and Undercover Brother. Jon Lovitz in A League of their Own. Alec Baldwin in Glengarry Glen Ross
I have others but I'll stop right here.
