My favorite example of scene stealing is Rupert Everett in My Best friends Wedding. I was disappointed he wasn't nominated for an Oscar; I thought he had a shot.
I personally dont consider Paul Bettany to be a scene stealer in A KNIGHT'S TALE. The film was so bad that he was the only noteworthy in it. If a film is that bad, is it really (scene) stealing?
I loved Elizabeth and as far as I'm concerned, nobody stole that film from Cate Blanchett. She OWNED that film. I even had to think for a minute about who Vincent Cassel was in that film: the French Prince, IIRC.

Joaquin Pheonix in Gladiator was so rivetting to see. It is a shame he did not win an oscar for that performance.

Rachel McAdams in Mean Girls. By the time La Lohan has turned into a Plastic herself, McAdams had already taken the movie from under her nose. Specificially, the cafeteria scene where Lohan gives her the Swedish bars and asks her what they are for.
Hayden Christensen in Shattered Glass. Granted, Peter Sarsgard can act but Christensen was the real surprise. He held his own against Sarsgard, matching him for the intensity in the scenes.
And from one of my favorite movies, Harold Perrineau in Romeo + Juliet. As a drag queen Mercurtio, he certainly was the most interesting character (IMHO).

As cute as Heath Ledger was in A Knight's Tale, it was Paul Bettany's Chaucer who stole the film, in all his nekkid glory. I'll add James Purefoy as stealing A Knight's Tale as well. When he took off his armor, my friend and I both audibly swooned. I've been hooked ever since. Some of my other fav scene stealers: Denholm Elliot and John Rhys-Davies (Indiana Jones), Orlando Bloom (LOTR), Antonio Banderas (Shrek 2), Steve Carell (Bruce Almighty, Anchorman), Peter Dinklage (Elf), Seth Green (Austin Powers), Colin Farrell (Falling for a Dancer), Jude Law (Artificial Intelligence: A.I.), Ray Winstone (King Arthur), Gerard Butler (Dracula 2000 ...yes, he was the lead, but I had no idea who he was when I went in to see this and wow! he stole the film from the better known leads and also in "Reign of Fire"), Bill Nighy (Love, Actually), James McAvoy (Narnia), Vin Diesel (Pitch Black), etc etc

I second Eric Bana stealing Troy from not only Orlando, but Brad too. Everyone I know that went to see it came out wanting more Hector.

Steve Carell steals the spotlight in every movie hes in, hes so fun to watch.
And have to mention Johnathon Lipnicki in Jerry Macguire. Showed more testosterone than Tom Cruise and cuter than Renee Zellweger.

I loved Gary Sinise as Lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump. The movie was okay overall, but partway through I found myself just waiting for Lieutenant Dan parts. At one point you thought you'd seen the last of him. When he showed up again I was so excited! I was kind of like Forrest himself, thinking, "Lieutenant Dan! Lieutenant Dan! Is that you?"
Oh, and Michael Clarke Duncan in The Whole Nine Yards. I liked the movie and everyone in it, but he's the one I kept looking forward to seeing.

If they looked as good as PB did, I'd say yes. Another great scene stealer was Isla Fisher in The Wedding Crashers. Arguably the greatest "bipolar nymphomaniac" (as she put it at this year's MTV Movie Awards) in movie history.

Notting Hill is shown on TV right now and it's Rhys Ifans that cracks me up every single time. Who cares about Julia!

I think Zooey Deschanel was the best thing in The Good Girl, and saved me from death by boredom.
