At the beginning of The Lion King, there's that scene where all the animals gather around the pride rock, and the music swells as all the animals bow to Mufasa. I cried in the theater (I was thirteen). Full disclosure: I have the soundtrack, which I keep in my secret, embarrassing CD pile, and "The Circle of Life" still makes me emotional.
Tarantino's movies are great for this thread.

Especially Pulp Fiction & the Kill Bill series, especially the use of "Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon" in the former & the 5,6,7,8's in Vol 1 of the latter.
Of course, no "Best Movie Music Moments" thread would be complete without the legendary boombox scene to Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" from Say Anything.

That Drew Barrymore movie, Riding in Cars with Boys? There's a scene at the beginning when her best friend gets up on stage at a wedding and starts singing. I don't know the name of the song but it's got the lyrics "You were my first love and you'll be my last love, I'll be true to you." It's an old 50's/60's classic. Anyhow, it's the Brittany Murphy character who sings it and she has a surprisingly sweet voice. I love that scene because it was so unexpected. (Although she gets interrupted, so you don't get to hear much...)

So... Girl Interrupted once again? Oh my god! I hate to take up space just to comment on other posts, but boy did I walk right into that one!

I'll show myself out right after this, but ...
In Tommy Boy when Chris Farley and David Spade are flipping through radio stations, hit a oldies station with cheesy love songs and end up singing them at the top of their lungs. Funny and so true.

I love the scene in Wayne's World where they all headbang to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. Of course, when I first saw the movie, I didn't know that was a rock song. I though Mike Myers was a genius for making the characters so into opera.
Why yes, I have no musical aptitude, why do you ask?

MessageUnit, after the film came out, Mike Myers was contacted by Queen. He thought they were going to complain as he felt like he'd "whizzed on a Picasso" (I think those were his exact words), instead they thanked him for making them popular again.

Almost Famous. The bus scene. "Tiny Dancer." 'Nuff said.
