Best Movie Moments Involving Music

The other day, I saw Pulp Fiction for the umpteenth time & one of my favorite moments was the twist between John Travolta & Uma Thurman. It was the perfect combination of music & dance that can be imitated, but never duplicated, IMO. If you've any favorite film scenes that are music-related, whether they involve singing, dancing, or the way music is used in a ceetain scene, post it here.

One of my favorite music/movie moments is in Witness with John Book and Rachel dancing to Sam Cooke's What a Wonderful World while Book sings along. Even better when the scene comes to a screeching halt with the old Amish guy shouting
"Rachel! De Muzik! De Muzik!" HEE!

In Harold and Kumar when they steal the truck and end up singing along to Wilson Phillips. I have not laughed that hard at a movie in a very long time.

I really like the Dream the Dream song/scene that plays in Bend in Like Beckham when she stands in the yard and feels like her dreams are over. Sadly there is no copy of the song anywhere. Damnit.

I usually have my hate on for 50's musicals filmed in glorious! garish Technicolor, but the title number from Singin' in the Rain is awesome. It does nothing to advance the plot, it's just a dude twirling around some lamposts, but he's so freakin' filled with joy just to be alive...I feel uplifted every time I see it.

I also really like the sequence in Easy Rider when the guys are riding through some gorgeous scenery in the American Southwest while “The Weight” by The Band plays on the soundtrack. They are pulling tricks on their bikes and enjoying the beauty all around them and there’s this whole aura of freedom and wistfulness that is really cool. How sad to hear that song used in a wireless phone commercial.

The final scene of Vanilla Sky with the Sigur Ros song... makes me cry.

No one may agree with me, but I thought that the music in the love scene from "Meet Joe Black" was so wonderful and fitting. The name of the piece is "Whisper of a thrill" by the talented Thomas Newman(look him up, he composed music for many a movie)and I LOVE it.

I mean, the scene wasn't graphic, but from the facial expresions and the music alone, you knew what was happening in every moment, even the climax.

It was so sweet!

And Disney movies have a way of tugging at my heartstrings with their music. Like the scene in "Dumbo" when he had to leave his mum(Baby of mine I think)...or even "Fox and the Hound" when the widow had to drop him off in the woods...I still feel like crying when I see it!
