Best Movie Fight Scenes

While I love warm & fuzzy movie moments as much as the next person, there's nothing like a good fight scene. Case in point: Beatrix Vs. Elle in Kill Bill: Vol. 2. Talk about a catfight!

Easy! The long swordfight between Inigo Montoya and The Man In Black in The Princess Bride, and then the fight scene between Inigo and Count Rugen near the end. I love how the music fits in that second scene - the beginning parries match perfectly with the opening chords.

I love the fight scenes in the Matrix movies between... well, just about between anyone. But especially the ones with Neo and Agent Smith(s).

Also, any fight scene in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

(I just realized, posting this, that I apparently have a penchant for fight scenes that take place in a surreal setting...)

Don't be ashamed! Those still hold up after multiple viewings. I think one of my top ten is the fight between Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Whalberg in the movie The Yards. They didn't do much more than have a regular street fight, but I think it was the best in terms of how real it looked!

Ripley vs. the Alien Queen in Aliens. Plus Ripley's line of "Get away from her, you bitch!"? Classic.

The Inigo/Man in Black swordfight is the best. I don't think I'll ever see anything that beats that.

I'd follow that up with the big fight in Gladiator with the tigers, just because it's so brillantly choreographed and Russell Crowe was still smoking hot back in those days.

That's because it WAS real. Apparently they decided they should just go for it and they really are kicking the snot out of each other.

How about the one in John Carpenter's They Live? You know, when Piper is trying to make his friend put on the sunglasses and they end up beating the shit out of each other for about five minutes straight?

WelshCorgiGirl I'll see your Ripley vs. Alien Queen in Aliens and raise you Predator vs. Aliens in AVP. Because, I'm a dork and the only person in the universe who LIKED that movie. Heh.
