ThursdayNext, I'm with you on Lone Star. It rocks! As does Clueless, which I watched again last night. Mmmm, Josh!

I like that one too. It's probably why I squee-ed like a little girl when Bud Court (Harold) showed up on one of the episodes of Arrested Development that aired last Friday.

[ My choice for romantic movie would be Harold and Maude. It's kind of an odd choice, but I found it really touching. I was so in love with Harold when I was a teenager. One of my favorite romantic movies. I've watched Return to Me, with David Duchovny and Minnie Driver, several times. It's sweet, charming, and funny(written and directed by Bonnie Hunt). I never get through it without tearing up.

L.A. Story.
The use of Enya's "Exile" always brings me to tears. I pretty much lose it when Steve Martin says, "That's twice."
And so, we watched it last night (I wanted to make Mr. Wolf watch "Roxanne"...one of my favorites and also hella romantic, but he insisted).

I know this is so cliche, but I nominate An Officer and a Gentleman. Yeah yeah, I know. I'll show myself out.
But Debra Winger rocks.

Oh DuskWolf, I love Roxanne! Thanks for reminding me. Steve Martin is pretty much my ideal man anytime, but in this movie he's perfect. When he's making fish, looking for the perfect pen to write her love letters... sigh. I need to buy this movie.

La Femme Nikita. The original French Version. To this day, I still melt over the tough, normally ruthless "Bob" bringing a birthday cake for girl who was (at that point) a freakishly difficult, obnoxious, rebellious brat.
He was dressed all in black with a silver Hermes belt, and then took out his stiletto knife to carve up a piece of her cake.
I thought the whole damn movie was romantic, in a twisted dark way. The BF who loved her and did everything for her, and would have accepted her even as a government assassin. And Bob, the controller, who just wanted her to be happy and would have played along, no matter how much it hurt him personally.
Ever since this film, I've had a weak spot for Tchéky Karyo.

Kafka, so much word on La Femme Nikita. I love that movie particularly the last scene when both men are sitting face to face, knowing far too well what the other felt for her and how much they'd both miss her.

Call me a softy old mushball if you will, but one of my all-time favourite romantic movies is...
Shaun of the Dead.
Yep. Give me a sweet little romantic comedy and chuck in a few zombies, and I'm yours.
Plus I'll also echo The Wedding Singer which, for a Sandler movie, is refreshingly sweet, charming and free from gross-out humour.
