How about for Lisbeth the actress who plays Tonks in the Harry Potter movies. Dammit! Why didn't I think of that? Perfect casting! Just make Tonks and Daniel Craig Mikael and Lisbeth, and be done with it. I can't think of any Americans that could pull off the lead parts. With our luck, it will end up being ScarJo in a shitty wig, or even worse, Natalie Portman.

This movie is now streaming on Netflix, and I watched it last night. I don't think it was the best movie ever, but it was certainly solid and entertaining. But I agree that it would be hard to find an American actress who could play Lisbeth with the same twitchy intensity as Noomi Rapace. I know she's not everyone's favorite person, but the only American I can picture is Angelina (though I think she's now too old to play the role). The gal who played Tonks has the right look, but can she bring the intensity? Oh, and I totally knew that Harriet was alive and the one sending the flowers. I just couldn't figure out how she pulled it off.

I saw this last night and was really impressed. I would love it if they remade it as a BBC or HBO miniseries. The story and pacing would work beautifully as self contained episodes.

The Angelina Jolie of 1995 would have been good casting. She had the short hair, the tattoo, and everything. Her acting style has changed so much (for the worse, IMO) since, though.

Ouch. I liked him in Casino Royale. Now that I think about it, I can't remember any other movie I've seen him in. But I think he was the obvious, and an excellent choice for the lead in GWtDT. Now let's see how bad the choice to play Lisbeth is.

I think this is a good casting choice although, out of the two main characters, this was by far the easier role to fill. I'm just praying they get someone talented and unique enough to play Lisbeth.

I just saw it and really liked it. Lisbeth is a great anti hero, very complex. The actress was very good. I can't see Ellen Page or much less Kristen Stewart doing this. I don't even know why they want to remake it, it's really good as is.
