Speaking of Walt, do you think it's safe to say that Walt and his specialness is one of the questions that will never be answered? Last time we saw Walt he was talking to Hurley and being lead to believe his dad was still alive.

I don't think TPTB can wedge Walt, Aaron and the rest of their special kids into this ending, although it's one of the lingering things I was hoping on. Michael was pretty annoying but one of the reasons I was so gleeful about him leaving was that his son would sort of redeem him one day.

I just caught "The Constant" when it was on late the other night. Man, do I ever love that episode - still cried like a baby at the end. And boy do I miss really liking this show.

This last episode was okay, I guess - I just don't think that I really care about Jacob and/or MiB though. Sun & Jin's last scene didn't even move me because they were speaking in English - took me right out of the scene. Gah. The only episode that I've really liked this season was Desmond's, and I can only hope that his storyline ends well.

I don't want to be the Debbie Downer in the thread, but I must admit that at this point I'm just hanging in until the bitter end. I barely even remember this show is on anymore, and if this thread didn't keep popping up, I probably would forget to watch. I'm glad that you all are still loving it though.

It's crazy to think that we'll know the ending by next week.

I read something online over the weekend that really made me wonder how much they actually did plan out in advance on the show. In S1's Pilot there was a guy sucked into the plane's engine. In the off-show universe he was named as Gary Troup, the writer of a book called Bad Twin. (!!!) From Lostpedia:

Troup's impact on the survivors extended after his death when a manuscript of Bad Twin was found and read by Hurley. ("The Long Con"[in Season 2, my note]) The manuscript was later acquired by Sawyer. When Sawyer tried to postpone Jack's demand for the stolen guns ("Cool your damn jets and walk around the coconut trees; I've got, like, 10 pages left"), Jack burned the pages that would have revealed the ending. ("Two for the Road")

Bad Twin, as in MiB? I guess maybe they really did know where they were going ahead of time.

I wonder if Widmore brought Desmond because he wants him to go into that glowy cave? If it all has to do with electromagnetism again... which Desmond can survive when it should kill him. Guess I'll have to wait and see a little while longer...

I've mentioned it on this thread before, but I have that book, Bad Twin by Gary Troup. You could buy it at the time, so I did. It was a standard detective novel, but maybe if I reread it now, I'd see more into it. It is dedicated to Cindy Whoever, a flight attendant for Oceanic Airlines, who was lost in a plane crash. Yes, that is in the front of the book. Gary Troup was Cindy the flight attendant's boyfriend.

I'm definitely seeing things through at this point. The excitement I had in early seasons has dissipated but I still have a fondness for the characters... I really hope the finale is worthwhile. I don't need every answer to be tied up in a neat bow, but I don't want to feel shafted as a viewer either.

Isn't Cindy the flight attendant who was on the tail section and is basically raising the kids? The attendant who gave Jack the alcohol?
