Like others I found the overall season rather uneven but thought the finale was quite solid. It gives me hope season 4 will be better than this season. Well and the fact Sutter has publicly stated we won't spend half a season or all season in prison.
I don't think the season will begin with Jax at odds with Clay and Gemma. I think Tara will really struggle if she should give the letters to Jax or not. Keep in mind Tara loves and respects Gemma. Gemma clearly loves and respects Tara as well. Handing over the letters would be betraying a woman that has become a maternal figure for Tara. Plus, it's not like she can immediately hand them over. Jax is stuck in prison for at least 14 months with Clay. Not a good time to inform Jax the stepfather and mother he loves may have killed his father.
Tara could also end up having the same thoughts I'm having about John Teller. If he was so convinced Gemma and Clay were planning on killing him then why didn't he try to do something to prevent it? Why didn't he run or kill Gemma and Clay before the could kill him? Instead it seems all he did was write letters to his mistress saying, "Oh poor me! Dear woman I have been screwing on the side I think my wife is doing my friend? Can you believe she would cheat on me? Oh and I think they might kill me! If my letters stop coming just assume I'm dead!" Also, if he didn't want Jax to turn to the life of crime why didn't he just grab him and run? All the man did was blather, blather, blather! I'm having a hard time buying he was a threat to SAMCRO since it seems he was too freaking emo to do anything to save his own life! Yet, I'm supposed to believe he was about to throw the club into turmoil?

I really hope that next season some of the club members get to have bigger parts. I think Juice maybe had 2 lines per episode. I would love to see him get his own storyline. Did Chib's ex and daughter come to Charming with them? I don't remember seeing them in the last 2 episodes at all. And while I get that Stahl was responsible for Donna's death Tig was the one who pulled the trigger. I would think Opie would be a lot more hostile to Tig even if he went along with them both staying in the club.
Yeah I don't know who is doing the voice for John but he was not a good choice. He sounds more like a philosophy grad student than a hard core biker. I hope the big relevation from the letters isn't just that Clay and Gemma offed John. Would Jax or Tara really be shocked about that? I hope it is something more intriguing like they had something to do with Thomas' death.

LOL I never thought of Teller as emo but he does get pretty whiny to be so hardcore. His voice reminds me of someone else irritating--maybe the guy endlessly narrating Heroes after it went off the rails. A little goes a long way.
Chibs' family stayed in Ireland, IIRC, since his daughter loved it there & didn't want to be on the run. They might come to Cali though, now that there's no threat.

Heh. Yeah, I'm basically trying to say he's awfully whiny. I do appreciate having Hamlet's dad's ghost appear via letters as opposed to an actual entity though. Just wished they had hired a different voice actor. Honestly, Sutter (remember he plays Otto) might have been a better choice!
I thought about how Gemma can explain away the letters. She could start out by pointing out that John is criticizing her and Clay for having an affair to the woman John had a child with. What's to say John isn't simply trying to make his mistress feel better about what they have done and perhaps maybe even himself. Then, she could point the things I mentioned in my previous post. If he was so convinced his life was in danger then why didn't he try to kill Gemma and Clay? Why didn't he run? It really wouldn't be that difficult to convince Jax and Tara that John Teller was a weak man who smeared his wife and best friend in order to make himself feel better about stepping out on them.

Jax already suspected Gemma & Clay of killing John in S1. I just don't think he'd care now. He's sick of John Teller himself. He won't turn on Gemma & Clay. If anything, the letters may have more effect on Tara than Jax. She's about to become a mother herself. (I know she considers Able her son, but Gemma is going to keep that boy close while Jax is away.) She may decide John Teller was right to leave the club behind. We'll see.

So, the new trailer for season 4 is out. It's only 30 seconds but does give me hope the cast is telling the truth with their statements that season 4 focuses more on internal club troubles. The show is at it's best when it focuses on the club. On a shallow note, I'm digging Jax's new haircut.

Anyone watch the season premiere last night? First off I have to say I think Jax looks much better with long hair. I am not feeling the short hair at all. Juice's new hair is also terrible. He needs to lose it and that wimpy little mustache mustache.
It seems like they are setting up a lot of interesting storylines, Jax saying he wants to get out, Tara finding out about Gemma and Clay's past and Gemma knowing that Tara knows. Not sure about the new sheriff and the US attorney. I like the idea of SAMCRO actually having foes who aren't completely evil or crazy but I don't know, the attorney especially seems a little weird.
That Wonderful World montage was a little too on the nose. I am intrigued and a little fearful of David Hasselhoff's upcoming guest role. Still I am optimistic about this season after being lukewarm about the last one. Still happy that Agent Stahl is gone.

You guys! What the hell is going on? I love Juice, I don't want him to get killed, waaahhh. Hasselhoff did pretty well, I just don't want to see him on too often.
I also hate the sheriff and the attorney. The attorney is weird & slimy and the sheriff just seems like a jerk (sorry Rockmund). I guess I'm still rooting for the gun running and now dope muling and apparently racist SAMCRO.

Hoping Marianne Jean Baptiste is on for several episodes. I was pleasantly surprised to see her.
