I just watched Dogfight, one of River Phoenix's last films, and Brendan Fraser's first film role. He plays a mean "Sailor #1" whose only line is "How'd you like to eat my shit?" Watching this, you can imagine him getting typecast as the asshole frat guy.

Where has he been the past couple years? Has he had any roles since the "Mummy" movies. This thread is definitely making me want to re-watch "George of the Jungle". Yum.

I caught him in The Quiet American where he played a seemingly idealistic young doctor in French-occupied Vietnam in the fifties. He was pretty good.

Why is his thread up again? Can we talk about his looks? Good. No movie star has ever lost his/her looks faster than this man. It's breathtaking. Did he lose a bet with Satan? Punch a leprechaun? Step on Voldemort's cape? He was so handsome in "Gods and Monsters" and now he looks like he's been awake since Bush's first term so he could eat more donuts.

It's so disheartening when the genetically and financially blessed can still manage to gain all that weight. When you're good looking, have access to the best trainers and personal cooks, and don't work all that much, there really isn't much excuse not to look your best.

He was so good in the Mummy movies and he is a comedian who gives it his all. Excellent series and he isn't afraid to REALLY play the doofus. No pretention.

I have to say, I watched some of that Looney Tunes movie he did and I really found it endearing how willing and able to be a human cartoon he was. I'm seconding the "What happened?" I was really sad to hear he split up from his wife, because they were together for a good 10 years. I know it happens to a lot of people, but still.
