Even the Talking Dead didn't really get much reaction (although I have to finish the second half today, I couldn't stay up any longer to watch the whole thing). Chandler seemed a little sad and resigned and knowing how they kind of blindsided him with Carl's death when Carl was one of the few who wasn't supposed to die, I just felt bad for him. He does look a million times better with the haircut though, that stringy mess he's had for years drove me nuts. I read elsewhere that the reason he got shitcanned was because he just turned 18 and they'd have to start paying him adult actor wages instead of the lower, child actor wages. He supposedly thought he was going to stick around for a while and actually bought a house near where they do most of the filming. If that's true then I have to commend him for handling it all so well. If it were me I'd be pissed as all hell and would not be able to hide it.

I believe he was also planning on going to a college near filming, so the idea was he'd be sticking around for a good while. I've heard some comments that they sacrificed Carl in order to justify Rick keeping Negan alive in the future, as in "I really want to kill Negan, but Carl wouldn't want that so we have to honor his memory!" Ugh. I have to confess I mostly put the show on as background noise now, I feel like the story lines go nowhere and haven't for a good long time now. The writers seem to favor certain characters like Negan and Daryl and shove their story lines down our throats whether we like them or not. I stopped liking Daryl a long time ago, and do not feel his character has grown one inch in all these years. He had so much promise, then they just let him stagnate to the point he's just a caricature.

I don't care how popular Jeffrey Dean Morgan is or how much they want to keep him around, Negan cannot be redeemed after bashing Glenn's brains in like he did. Or burning people. Or basically raping women. Not happening.

I do not watch this show but does the media not even care about spoiling what seems to be like key plots for this anymore? I've seen two very unsubtle headlines already with the name of the character who bites it.

Well to be fair, it was known that that character was going to die since the end of the last episode back in December. So it wasn't really much of a spoiler.

Ugh, this show is so bad now. Kudos to Chandler Riggs, who had proven a really uneven adult actor, on his last performance. And Danai Gurira acted her heart out. But the writing, ugh. Are they saving money by the constant dark, no idea where they are or wtf is happening settings?
I felt like even Chris Hardwick had a hard time pretending to care, now.

On the last episode, I kind of groaned when I saw each segment had a title screen for individual characters, but it was okay since they visited different groups in the story.
On a very related note, I had COMPLETELY forgotten that Aaron and Enid had gone to the ocean people.

There are way too many loose threads on this show.

The only reason I remembered Aaron at all was because we were trying to recall if he'd gotten killed and when that might have happened. I'd completely forgotten Enid. Also, remember Heath? Did they ever bother to close that thread or is he just missing? I kinda enjoyed Simon vs the Garbage People and the episode was mercifully short. I watched after the fact and without commercials, I was actually surprised when it ended so soon.
