The last four responses are so hilarious to me because they perfectly illustrate how much this show has blunted it's emotional impact.

Moving the story forward? Character development? Intriguing characters? Better than average cinematography? Exciting fight sequence? This was an... actual... good episode....

I haven't watched this for a while. They lost me with Glenn. So Andrew Lincoln is leaving after this season and Norman Reedus will headline the next season? And he wants $20million dollars?? Not worth it, imo. I like Darryl but he's a bit player. He plays well off other characters but revolving the series around him will be mediocre. I guess though he's what the creators think the fans will tune into watching.

Lauren Cohan is also leaving, so there’ll be no more Maggie either. I bet Danai Gurira leaves too. She was hardly in the first half of season 8, I’m assuming because of her being busy wth Black Panther and Infinity War and her play, so I can’t see her wanting to stick around much longer when she’s got so much going on in her career otherwise.

Norman Reedus' popularity confounds me, the greasy, monosyllabic thing isn't appealing to me and how that can carry a show is beyond me. And if Andrew Lincoln had decided to leave and it was a secret, Rick's shocking death could have been interesting, but if we already know he's leaving, the suspense is gone. I think they should just stick a fork in this one and try again with Fear the Walking Dead. Maybe migrate a few more characters over or something, but without Rick, TWD just isn't the same show.

Maybe Rick, Michonne and Maggie will stay and live where they are building a community and the story will continue on with Darryl and Negan on a roadtrip? I'm not a Negan fan and it seems like he's taken over the show so they could just keep on with that concept.

Darryl was cool in the first few seasons, and his relationship with Carol was fun, but I don't think they even had a scene together this season. If I'm right and Danai does leave along with Andrew and Lauren, I might finally give up on this thing. I still like Carol, Ezekiel, and Jerry but I don't know if their few scenes are worth sitting through the rest of the crap.

Especially with Morgan gone, it seems like she doesn't have a place anymore. Maybe with Rick and Morgan gone, they'll go back to the Daryl/Carol partnership.
