Has just entered rehab (I'm sorry, a "treatment center"). I guess Miley is not the most effed up of the bunch after all.

In a statement to TMZ, the 18-year-old singer's rep says, "Demi Lovato left her tour early this weekend in order to seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time."

We're told Demi is not seeking treatment for drug use.

The statement continues, "Demi has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help. She is doing just that."

The rep concludes, "[Demi] regrets not being able to finish her tour, but is looking forward to getting back to work in the near future."

Sources close to Lovato tell us the singer was in a physical altercation with a female member of her tour recently ... which was a "catalyst" in her decision to seek professional help.

Really odd. So now I'm wondering if she is the teen star on drugs that I've seen referenced in quite a few BIs recently. I know it says this doesn't involve drugs, but I find that hard to believe.

I know way too much about Disney drama. Rumors have been around for a long time that she does drugs. However, it's always seemed like her emotional issues are probably the real problem. She has a history of cutting, depression, self-esteem issues, rumors of an eating disorder. You name it.

This whole story is drama-packed. Joe Jonas dumped her then started going out with Ashley Greene very shortly after. The two of them had to tour together and then he started bringing Ashley along with him, and while not the cause, it may have been the last straw for Demi. The "physical altercation" mentioned? There were rumors that that was her and Ashley, even before this confirmation of her entering rehab came out.

I totally forgot about how she used to have cutting marks on her arms! And I didn't even think about the "altercation" being with Ashley Greene. It's hilarious to think about two girls fighting over Joe Jonas. He seems so... asexual to me.

I am right there with you on the Disney drama. I love it, I can't help it.

Is it just me or is Joe Jonas an asshole of the first order? And Ashley Greene's not coming out much better in this, frankly.
If Joe and/or Ashley knew about Demi's obvious emotional problems, they should have been a bit more discreet than they were. Not that they should have hid out, but there's a lot of grey area between "hide and deny" and "PDA city."

I think Disney drama is so fun because the Mouse works so hard to cover it all up, but sucks so badly at it. It ALWAYS comes out eventually.

Ironically, Demi actually IS pretty talented. It'd be nice to see her come out of this and put this experience to use and maybe we could get an album with some real emotion and drama in it from a girl who can actually sing, as opposed to the fairies and princess version of heartbreak we get from Taylor Swift.

ETA that I totally agree that Joe/Ashley look tacky as hell in all of this. It's not their fault obviously, but don't shove your new girlfriend in your ex's face on a tour that was already going to be awkward. And don't tweet "Tonight. Was. Incredible." and post pics from the tour an hour after it's announced that she's checking into rehab for emotional issues.

There are some hardcore messed up rumors about her out there. I think there was a blind item that the ONTD kids traced back to her that involved hard drugs and public sex. There are also people that say that she had a volatile sexual relationship with Selena Gomez that didn't end well. Just... yikes.

Demi's mom, Dianna, is also a piece of work. She's living the high life off the backs of her daughters (okay, mostly Demi) and hangs out with coke-addled druggie types like Slash's wife. Dianna's the one on the right, boozing it up at poker night.

I doubt Demi had anyone to set any limits and wouldn't be surprised if Mom turned out to be her supplier.
