Oh, I remember when Demi and Joe were going out, and Demi admitted to watching fanmade Demi/Joe youtube videos. (Paraphrased: "I thought it was all in my head, but then I watched some Jemi videos and thought that maybe I wasn't the only one who felt this way...") I remember thinking, Girl, what are you doing? You just don't admit in public to watching cheesy fanmade videos. You just don't, that's all.

Hah, I remember that. It gave shippers/tinhatters of other pairings hope that their couple would see the fanvids and get together, too!

I think he is too. But that doesn't mean it can't still mess with these girls' heads. I've always kind of felt like Taylor and Demi probably had no idea and that those relationships were genuine, at least on their sides. While Camilla Belle and Ashley Greene were/are just straight-up beards and know the score. Which, if anything, makes Ashley and Joe's behavior worse to me, because I don't believe she's following him around on this tour for any reason other than blatant attention whoring.

Back on topic: I wish Demi well. But romantically linked to Selena Gomez of all people...? I thought that there had been a recent blind about a tweener star who was very inexperienced and completely virginal and who recently got blind drunk (for the first time) at an event and made a complete fool of herself over a Glee star, on whom she had a massive crush, and Selena was everyone's best guess for that one, too. Will the real Selena Gomez please stand up?

Get well soon, Demi. Maybe in Camp Rock 3 your character can push Slo Slonas off a pier and then ride off into the sunset with someone more deserving.

I think the presumed torrid sexual relationship between Demi and Selena was basically made up by wishful-thinking fans. Because apparently two people can't be platonically close without having the hots for each other.

Another, more plausible (IMO) rumor that I heard was that the friendship between Demi and Selena fizzled out because the latter did not approve of the former's growing involvement in the Jeffree Star-type scene.

I don't know about Demi, but I do think Selena's gay. She "dated" Taylor Lautner in a very showy, PR-friendly way while they happened to both be filming in Vancouver, then it ended as soon as they were finished shooting, and he moved onto her BFF, Taylor Swift. And there has never been a bit of awkwardness about any of it.

I hope she gets better too. I am forced (:-)) to watch the Disney Channel because my son loves Phinneas and Ferb and Fishhooks, and they promote the hell out of all of their other shows during commercial. Demi is really adorable and talented, and I hope she gets through this. The whole Disney machine is frightening. On TWOP they are quite cruel to Demi in the threads about Camp Rock (what? I read it) and I hope she doesn't read stuff like that. Doesn't matter who you are or how "successful", reading shit like that about yourself online has got to hurt, especially for a teenager. Now it's just going to get worse, but hopefully will fade away fast.

is Ashley his "girlfriend" or his publicist? And if she's intent on at least claiming the former, perhaps just a hint of sensitivity might be in order?

I hope Demi gets the help she obviously needs. What she doesn't need is to be around that guy, in any context, any more. While he's not responsible for her well-being, the situation she found herself in around him was detrimental for her.
