I've never heard that Christmas Shoes song! Sounds like that's actually a blessing.
I'd have to say for this poll it's a toss up between "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" and "I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus" ...but only the early version of the latter that's sung by either a very small child or an adult trying to sound like one. I HATE that song. But versions that are sung normally don't bother me.
Random question, but since when is "I've got my love to keep me warm" a Christmas song? I've heard it twice in the last 24 hours on XM's holiday station.
I'm sad to see Last Christmas as an option, I love it!

This is like picking which store-bought fruitcake is the most disgusting. I've never heard the "Christmas Shoes" song. All the other choices actually make the Paul McCartney song like-able. I love Wham! but I really hate "Last Christmas". I can't believe the Band-Aid song isn't on here - I have it on vinyl from when it came out and some of my favorite people were on it, but God it's a terrible song.

Completely regional, but there is a song played on my local stations far too much. Christmas in the Northwest. It is completely gag-worthy. Every time I hear it I want to pack up and move to anywhere but the northwest.

I think it's considered one for the same reason that ANY version of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" is. Creepiest version of which I heard yesterday - Willie Nelson & Norah Jones. Anyway, my vote when for that damn shoe song. I can't change the channel fast enough.

I find it amusing that Wonderful Christmas Time doesn't have any votes over here, but is doing fairly well in the Christmas Abominations thread.

I find it amusing that Wonderful Christmas Time doesn't have any votes over here, but is doing fairly well in the Christmas Abominations thread. That's because "Christmas Shoes" isn't a choice over there. *shudder*

I find it amusing that Wonderful Christmas Time doesn't have any votes over here, but is doing fairly well in the Christmas Abominations thread. Allow me to be the first vote. Technically, the shoe song is worse, but I somehow manage to avoid hearing it too much. I can never escape the mind-numbingly repetitive "Wonderful Christmastime", though. I love it, too! Especially the original. I can't hate anything written by George Michael (yes, even "Bad Boys" by Wham!).

I haven't heard Christmas Shoes, and I'm not going to seek it out. I remember when May You Dance was everywhere, and what helped was reading on some board (This one? Fametracker? Hissyfit? I don't remember) that to get through MYD, imagine that the girl is going to go dance on the stripper pole, and that right afterwards she gets beaten to death by her pimp, with her shoe. That thought makes May You Dance almost bearable. Is there any such rememdy for Christmas Shoes? Could the Christmas Shoes be the shoes used to beat the May You Dance girl to death?

Harry Connick Jr. does an awesome version of this one.
"Deck the Halls" by Manheim Steamroller makes me laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh. Because it's awful and the video is unintentionally hilarious.

oh Gawd!!! Mannheim Steamroller IS an abomination all year round. My dad has all their stuff. I've never understood what the hell it's supposed to be!
