Why must he go down this road? I am so sick and tired of hearing this same song and dance from any actor with an action movie coming out. I blame Clambo entirely for this trend.

Movie star Josh Lucas hopes he never has to film another adventure movie like Poseidon because the shoot left him injured and in immense pain. The Sweet Home Alabama star felt sure the experience of filming with director Wolfgang Petersen would be a challenge, but he had no idea what he'd be expected to do in the deep sea disaster remake. Lucas tore a muscle in his hand during one stunt and had to wear a splint to ease the pain - and that was just the start of his troubles. He recalls, "The muscle actually rolled back up into my thumb and they had to put in two inch slits on either side to go in and rebuild it, and reconnect it through surgery. Poseidon was physically, insanely difficult. Basically Wolfgang's whole thing was, 'I do not want to have a movie that relies on computer generated images, and so what I'm going to do is I'm going to have real situations.' When you watch the movie, you're going to see the walls are actually imploding from the pressure of the water, and there are massive canons of water shooting at us, and there are fires and all of it is real."

We get it. You are a big, strong, brave action star and you suffer for your art. Please, Josh, you seem smarter than this. I beg of you, don't do this anymore. Just be charming and witty and leave the chest thumping to Tommy Boy.

Yeah I hope he's not going the Tommy route. Although I'm not sure it's supposed to make him seem brave or the director just seem nuts.

While I agree that JL doing all his own Poseidon stunts was dangerous, at least he's not pretending that it didn't hurt, unlike Brokeback Clambo, who claimed to have hurt six ribs but kept working anyway, like the "amazing" stud he thinks he is.

I love Josh Lucas . I saw an interview with Josh & Kurt Russell and they acted like brothers , ribbing eachother , joking around . They obviously had a great filming experience. It was not faked or forced like the Tom Cruise , Ving Rhames, Jonathan Rhys Meyers interviews .

Josh Lucas is handsome , got a great body , beautiful eyes , gorgeous smile . The boy has it all ! I will always support him in his endeavors . I can't wait for Poseidon to come out , I'll be there opening day .

He's also starring in the Daniel Pearl movie. I'm glad he's getting meatier roles - though that will be a sad movie...

Somehow, I just can't picture him as Daniel Pearl. He just doesn't have the gravitas needed for the role, IMO.

And I'm sure that I won't like who they cast as Marianne Pearl either.

I'm guessing it will be either Thandie Newton - too chilly and crisply British - or Rosario Dawson - a tad too bimboish.

The perfect person for the role is soap actress Sheri Saum. Not only is she multi racial, but she comes across on screen as very sharp and is a dead ringer for Marianne.

You know, you are absolutely right about Sheri Saum. I would have never thought of that but it makes perfect sense.

I have nothing against Josh Lucas, hell I don't think I have seen him in anything but he is not who I picture as Daniel Pearl. Not sure who is. I do hope thought since it seems he has been cast, that everyone involved treats this with the utmost respect & dignity.

Hehe, that's quite funny, Josh is like an upmarket Matt McConaghey, IMO. I feel like Josh is more natural on screen and can truly act whereas Matthew seems more artificial to me.
