I think Tobey's Spiderheir Andrew Garfield could have killed it, accent-depending. He captured so well in TSN being betrayed by friends caught up in wealth and privilege.

It looks art directed within an inch of it's life, but I loved the book way back in high school, and I really like DiCaprio. I'm still in.

I think it looks awesome. I too hate the casting of Tobey Maguire... I agree that Andrew Garfield would have been great or maybe like, Jake Gyllenhaal or Ryan Gosling. I guess I just don't like Tobey Maguire.

Tobey is technically too old to play Nick, who turns 30 in the course of the book.

Well, Leo is also too old to play Gatsby, who's supposed to be around 30 as well (Leo is 37 and Tobey turns 37 next month). I don't mind the casting based on age though, since I think a 30-year-old man in the 1920's would look older than one today because of hair and clothing styles anyway.

I cannot stand the sound of Tobey Maguire's voice. It's like nails on a chalkboard to me. The trailer has piqued my interest though.
