I need to track it down and watch it because wasn't Paul Rudd Nick? I LOVE him in virtually everything. Yes. Paul Rudd played Nick in this version. He was better than I am expecting Tobey McGuire to be.

I just found out that the '74 one is a free stream for Amazon Prime members. We should do a marathon y'all and liveblog it like an Awards Show!

Both Robert Redford and Sam Waterston were handsome in The Great Gatsby.
Tobey Maguire's face annoys me, which I realize is an irrational reaction to have towards him.

Just watch. Because they're hacks, they'll claim misspelling Ziegfeld was intentional. Because the Ziegfeld Estate didn't grant them rights or somesuch.

I have no motivation to see this. None. Leo is ruining it for me.

The trailer certainly is not making me want to see this film. It looks like a bloated mess.

Found the '49 on YouTube. Edith Head did the costumes! (The picture quality is pretty bad. As is the screenplay structure.)

I think Baz Luhrman is a bit of a hack, but I do enjoy watching his films when I am drunk late at night. So sparkly. So empty.

It looks extremely Baz Luhrman-esque. It has all of his surrealistic, stylistic elements. One of the YouTube commentators said it was Moulin Rouge on Long Island, which I thought was a perfect description. I think I'll see it. Tobey Maguire sticks out like a sore thumb though, between Leo, Carey Mulligan, and Isla Fischer, he's way outmatched. Ha! I was going to comment on the trailer, but this sums up my thoughts precisely. I didn't use to dislike Tobey, but after the Spiderman movies I can just barely tolerate him. Not sure if he changed or if I did. It wouldn't be Baz if it it wasn't totally OTT and flamboyantly nuts. I enjoy his movies, when I'm in the mood for them. With Moulin Rouge, I spent the first part of the movie just going WTF??!!?? and then actually really enjoyed it.

The 3D trailer was on before Men in Black 3, and it really does look gorgeous!
