My problem with The Town was that it felt recycled from other heist movies like Point Break and Heat.
I recently watched Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, and good god was it a pile of crap.

The Devil Wears Prada. I had seen this before but liked it better this time around. The storyline involving Andy's boyfriend and friends was still annoying but this movie is just so...nice to look at . Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt are great and Anne Hathaway did the best she could in a pretty boring role in which she was constantly surrounded by scene-stealers.

We Red Box'd Splice. So predictable but good special effects.
My daughter watched Mean Girls2 and kept telling me to be quiet and stop yelling at the television. God, that movie was baaaaaaad. I sat at my computer and looked over my shoulder every once in a while at the tv screen and that was enough.

I watched Toy Story 3 yesterday and like it a lot. It was pretty dark in parts.
I also watched Crazy Heart and enjoyed that as well. Jeff Bridges is so handsome, even when his character looked like shit. Simple story but very well acted.

Fish Tank. Between that and Towel Head I take back everything I have ever said about Justin Bieber. You 15 year old girls please, please have sexual fantasties about Bieber, not about the 35 year old guys who are accidently in your lives. I'm getting the bleach now...

Zombieland was hugely entertaining. I love zombie movies. I also watched Exit Through the Gift Shop and found it fascinating. Mr. Brainwash was a very fitting name for the French guy to give himself.

Role Models -- I loved it. There, I said it.
Also, really enjoyed Vicki Christina Barcelona and Last Chance Harvey. Emma Thompson can do no wrong in my book.

Blackrobe. Loved it, cried, considered using it in my anthropology class. Also, developed crush on Lothaire Bluteau.

Unstoppable, better than I was expecting. It was probably the least twitchy Tony Scott movie I have seen although it was still unnecessarily twitchy at times. I haven't seen the new Star Trek so that was my first exposure to Chris Pine and I was impressed.

Toy Story 3 - I am not really a fan of cartoons and didn't remember the previous movies at all, but it totally lived up to the Oscars hype. I will say, though, that I have a personal issue with CGI/3-D animated people where they always fall into the Uncanny Valley for me. I wish studios would pull back on the attempts at photorealism in this case because...yeah, no. They still look like creepy dolls with dead Britney-eyes and smooth Botox skin to me. Which is weird because they nailed so many other textures (like Lotso Bear's fur). I know this is a personal pet peeve but it squicks me out still!
I rented The Ghost Writer a few weeks back. Despite the Polanski issue and the fact that I expected it to be more 'twisty' (since one of the DVD featurettes was entitled "Ghost Writer: Fact or Fiction?" and that it was mentioned as a "what is real?" film in Slate's movie club, I almost thought it would be more Inception-y), I really enjoyed it. Nothing too ground-breaking but a well-done thriller. After this and her amazing turn on Dollhouse, Olivia Williams needs to get more work.
I have Winter's Bone coming today and am looking forward to it.
