I watched Winter's Bone last night. I thought it was a little thin on plot, but wow, they really nailed poor, rural America. And Ree Dolly is one of the most interesting and compelling characters I have seen in a movie in a while. Bred and buttered, indeed.

I've been on a strange "nineties films about American presidents" kick this week. So far, I've watched The American President, Dave, and My Fellow Americans. Man, those films look dated now. The lack of internet presence in politics (plus, presidents actually being afraid of reporters) is glaring, especially in TAP. I kept going, "Doesn't someone need to update the White House website or something?"

I watched Morning Glory and thought it was great. Rachel is such a pleasure to watch and I thought Diana K. and Harrison F. had great chemistry together and with Rachel.

I just finished watching The Tillman Story and am in love with his family. What a fantastic group of people. Yes, it pissed me off but, more so, it filled with such admiration for the Tillmans and those that really knew who Pat was.

Oh, yeah. As one of the reviews I read aptly noted, when they decided to ignore his relatives' wishes, they messed with the wrong family.

My friend and I saw Morning Glory in theatres and really liked it as well. We both remarked on how rare it was to see a movie where the female lead's career is her first priority and not in a "she needs to learn what *really* matters by going to a small town and being taught a lesson" kind of way.

I don't know how they marketed this in the US but here they made it look like some Katherine Heigl type of movie and as if Harrison Ford was playing Rachel McAdams' love interest. It was much better than other recent comedies although I was annoyed by all the music montages throughout the movie.

RedBox'd Red and Morning Glory. Just finished Red and we all liked it. Easy going action comedy. Haven't watched MG yet...

Sunshine Cleaning. I expected it to be quirky, but more of the humorous quirky than the dark quirky. Mr. Shrew didn't like it. I thought it was just okay.
