For a great tv show that only has two seasons, please watch "Party Down". I actually watched this already! My back up TV show to watch on Netflix is Veronica Mars -- just rewatching the first season. I was so excited to see Logan and Dick together again (on Party Down).

I watched Mother and Child yesterday. Annette Bening, Naomi Watts, Jimmy Smits, Samuel L Jackson, Kerry Washinton, S. Epatha Merkerson, Cherry Jones. Good solid cast. Very bittersweet movie. It's about adoption and its affect on different people. There were moments that floored me. I was feeling a bit overly sensitive yesterday so I don't know how I'd react if I saw it again but it sure worked on me.
Shareeka Eps, the young woman who played opposite of Ryan Gosling in Half Nelson, plays a pregnant woman who is deciding who to give her baby to. SHe's so good and such a strong presence. I really want to see her in more.

We watched Animal Kingdom last night. Fantastic movie. Great suspense, really well-written, well-directed, and well-acted. I had some issues with how flat they had the lead character be - it made it harder for me to care about him - but overall, I would highly recommend this.

Thanks for that reminder. I downloaded it and still haven't watched it. I think it was the only Oscar nominated performance I didn't see before the show.

I re-watched Burn After Reading, which was on TV. I think it's my favourite Coen brothers movie. I tend to prefer their comedies, and while I do love Raising Arizona and O Brother Where Art Thou, Burn After Reading just makes me giggle all the way through, and I just love the cast.

Machete was dreck, but it was okay background noise while I stuffed envelopes. There were some parts I liked, mostly those that didn't involve Jessica Alba or Lindsay Lohan.

I'm in the middle of a My So-Called Life marathon and just started watching Party Down. The former is making me hugely nostalgic. Even though I was in my late mid-late 20's when it was on I so related to her as a teen. The latter is a welcome treat. Great cast, including Martin Starr. I love Bill from Freaks & Geeks.

I've been watching "My So-Called Life" too (thanks, Netflix streaming!). I was in college when it first aired and I was too busy doing college stuff to notice it at the time. But I caught it later, and yeah, they really nailed what it was like to be a teenager. Better than anyone else, I think. While I wouldn't have been ga-ga over Jordan like Angela, I totally relate to her relationship with her mother. And Rayanne as the damaged kid, and Brian, the kid so awkward he can't stand being in his own skin. Man, they absolutely nailed it. I keep meaning to check out Party Down.

I rented Closer last night. I laughed at the blurb on the Netflix envelope where it summarizes the movie since it said something about "lives of 4 beautiful people...". Julia Roberts did not look beautiful in this movie and it didn't make sense why the two male characters were so deeply in love with her. That's probably why I didn't enjoy the movie. I can see how it worked as a Broadway play but for a movie it was pretty boring. And I couldn't buy Natalie Portman as a stripper.

I started to watch Eat, Pray, Love but only made about ten minutes in before turning it off.
