I started to watch Eat, Pray, Love but only made about ten minutes in before turning it off. Good choice. I sat the whole way through it.

I just started watching this today. It's hilarious - an instant favorite. I think I actually prefer Jane Lynch in Party Down as compared with Glee although her role is smaller.

I was bummed she's not in Season 2. I loved the Senior mixer episode where she reunites with Ed Begley Jr. and they get stoned in the bathroom. Or the one with the Russian mobsters where her B movie past works in her favor. Damn, she's funny in all of them.

We watched Machete. (Dear God, Jessica Alba is a lousy actress.) Because Mr. S. and I are both 12, we are now having fun coming up with terse Machete-style pronouncements (in keeping with his "Machete don't text."): "Machete don't wear eye protection." "Machete don't use prophylactics." "Machete don't wipe."

I just discovered it this year, too, and whipped through all the episodes in about 3 days. I love Adam Scott now.

I just saw Predators with Adrien Brody. What a lot of fun! Not bloated to excess like so many other summer movies.

"Machete don't do sprinkles."

I watched "Animal Kingdom" last night. I really liked it. Dark and suspenseful but not completely formulaic.

Rented The Social Network and Tangled. I thought TSN was good, didn't see what all the Oscar buzz was about. Justin Timberlake was a pleasant surprise. His character was not only not just a character different from himself, but is a real person, so the pressure to get it right is always there. Many times when a singer plays a role, they are just playing a version of themselves. I thought that Mother Gothel in Tangled wasn't evil enough. Malificent turned into a dragon! Snow White's stepmother turned herself into a hag!

I'm watching Jaws for the first time. Without even checking imdb I knew the horror slash whimsical music could only come from Spielberg. He has such a type.
