She canceled about 24 hours before the first scheduled show. She cried during her announcement, but the fans who were already en route to Vegas are crying a little bit more, I’d say.
I’m old enough to remember when the standard attitude was “the show must go on!” I can’t imagine what Adele needs to sing her songs in Vegas, but apparently it’s more than a microphone and a piano and a pianist.

We did a one off in Vegas, at the M casino’s big concert room. When we walked in to set up, there were 6 giant moving vari-lights on each side of the drum riser, and the fog was so thick, you couldn’t see the far end of the room.
We do a show recreating the early touring years of the Beatles.
We told them to get rid of all of it, and they said, “It’s Vegas! It has to be over the top!”
Extrapolate from that what the biggest singer on the planet “needs” to do to compete.

So, we actually had tickets to the show next Saturday. However, I was super pissed that my husband bought them at an outrageous price (face value) and was trying to sell them on Stubhub (with no luck due to outrageous price) so I am THRILLED by this cancellation. We will get our money back.
I do feel awful for people who planned whole trips to Vegas around this though, that's not so easy to just cancel.

We had tix in mid-March! At this point, we're still planning to go to Vegas even without the Adele show. We're in CA already though, so it's an easy and relatively inexpensive weekend trip. I just bought tix for that weekend for the live Drag Race show instead.

I bet ticket sales were slower than they hoped in the face of covid.... so they're pushing it back.

I bet ticket sales were slower than they hoped in the face of covid.... so they're pushing it back. It says here that the entire run sold out in six hours. The capacity of the theatre is only 4100, so 24 shows is only 98,100 seats total, which is pretty small by Adele standards.

I would be avoiding for now so assumed others would be too.

Have read lots of rumors that the cancellation is all creative conflicts and not staffing/supply chain stuff. It makes sense because if they didn’t have the staff or some stage props they would have known earlier than 24 hours before the show, and wouldn’t have postponed the full run of shows.
I feel bad for those who flew all the way to Vegas for it, canceling with that little notice is not a great way to treat ticket holders.
