Paul looked silly last night. I think he's doing a good job of picking songs that people can sing along with, but man, that arrangement of Old Time Rock 'n' Roll was horrible. I don't care about Stefano, but I can't believe he's been in the bottom more than Paul.
I think I would like Lauren if she weren't so very young. But as far as the show is concerned, she's probably the best winner they could have.
I hope Casey doesn't get voted out for that performance. I liked it so much better than anything he's done so far. Disregarding everyone's advice probably wasn't a good idea, though.

How about "The most beautiful girl in the world" (cut to a shot of one fugly, disgruntled looking spouse of most beautiful girl)? Is it wrong that I want her to find another (preferably hot and famous) guy and create a spectacular scandal? I know, I know.. bad for the kids. But oh so fun.

Oh, margojata, that was nauseating! Luckily, I DVR'd the show so as soon as Seacrest mentioned it, I fast forwarded it. First off, she's not a "girl" and she hasn't been a "girl" since the Reagan administration. Second, she didn't win a Nobel Prize and we shouldn't laud her for having good makeup artists, stylists, PR flaks, and a decent plastic surgeon (I'm talking to you, Lauren Suddeth)!

The "Most Beautiful" list is such bullshit anyway, so I don't see why it should really matter. Obviously no one can be called the "Most Beautiful." J.Lo doesn't deserve it more or less than any other woman does. Like others have pointed out, it's just a PR thing. I didn't have a problem with them poking a little fun about it on the show. It was funny when they cut to Marc, though... beauty and the beast!

I agree. Not all advice is good advice. Telling Paul to beat box during "Old Time Rock and Roll"? I never thought I'd say this, but thank goodness will.i.am was there to weigh in on what a stupid idea that was. When Iovine gloated to Lauren about her grabbing all the Pia votes and blowing Miley Cyrus out of the water vocally, that was a huge, "Some things are better left unsaid" moment. I wasn't a huge Pia fan, but if I were and I'd heard Iovine's comments, I would probably be more inclined to hold them against Lauren and not vote for her as much. And if there are Miley fans watching AI, maybe they wouldn't like hearing that and take it out on Lauren. AI fans can be incredibly petty in their reasons for supporting someone or not. Carrie Underwood later said that when Simon predicted her to be the best-selling winner of all, when it was like, Top 11, she was cringing a bit inside because she knew fans might hold it against her.
I think there's something from some movie soundtrack somewhere in between "Nature Boy" and "In the Air Tonight" that could have allowed Casey to be himself and still sing something more recognizable. But being pushed with an alternate suggestion from another whole genre/vibe probably made Casey even more determined to stick to his guns in a way he might not have been if Iovine had suggested "Take Five" (there's a version with lyrics) or something else jazzy.

Hallelujah! A guy finally leaves.
Goodbye, Mr. White Teeth! Find yourself a band to lead because you need one.
You know, if JLo (and I am starting to sound like her with the "you knows") didn't open her mouth and screamed that she wanted girls to stay, it would've been Haley leaving tonight instead of Mr. White Teeth.

Paul actually has a band; he was wearing their t-shirt tonight (The Grand Magnolias). I have seen them, and they aren't bad. I was definitely getting tired of him, though. Ever since he butchered Ryan Adams, I've been ready for him to go.

Paul already has a band. I think he actually might reunite with them if he's allowed, and just went on the show so they could get noticed/signed.
I loved that duet with Casey and Haley, especially her. Good or bad, Haley's never been boring.

Casey and Haley were really good. She looked and sounded wonderful, much better than she did on performance night. I'd love it if she stuck to bluesy stuff that showed off her voice. It helped that they had amazing chemistry and meshed well. (I can't believe how much more goodwill I have toward Casey now that he's trimmed the beard.) I must be easily suggestible because I thought Lauren and Scotty were adorable together. In fact, I liked all the performances last night (Kelly! ) except for the Paul/Stefano/Jacob/James one. It was a total cheesefest in the middle of some great singing.

Yeah, I kinda loved Casey and Haley too. I'm always impressed when people that young know jazz. The phrasing, the scatting .. good for them (where it will ever take them in pop music, who knows).
Kelly Clarkson has the weirdest body. She's heavy, but always manages to be pretty flat in the stomach. Mostly the weight just screws with her face. She's just.. not so cute. And she has desperately needed a hairdo for a long time. Still the best damned voice to come out of this show, though (imo).
