The opening number on performance night made me so glad all those people were booted off, it was horrible. Stefano's strange facial mannerisms .... I wonder if someone could train him to break those. James looked like a sad puppy, that was kind of sweet.

Kudos to Stefano for such a classy exit. He may not have been on anyone's list of favorites, but he seemed so appreciative of the experience and tried like the dickens to improve week to week.

Poor Tourettes was way more devastated than Stefano. He did scare the crap out of me though when he went to pick up Stefano. I thought some stalker had come to take him away.
Stefano was too green. He didn't know how to correct his facial expressions yet, and he didn't know how to stand up to that douchebag producer. The poor kid even sang the disco Stevie song again .. ack!
Was Tiara Toddler really wearing what looked like stone-washed jeans? Between that and the hair she looked like a 1980's Atlanta housewife.

I actually thought Stefano had a really, really good voice-- probably the best of who's left. And the most current sound-- he just wasn't nurtured by the judges for whatever reason. Oh well. I can't stand what's left.

I can't stand what's left. Yeah, he has a beautiful recording voice. And that goes to the dumbass job the judges are doing. He needs help, but he sure wasn't going to get it on this show. Besides the facial expressions, he needed to learn how to tone down the runs and riffs and work on his sometimes bizarre pronunciation of words. Now, if the judges weren't going to do it, how about they let the guest mentors back in? Harry Connick and David Foster did a great job trying to fix the bad habits of these kids. It helps nothing to be told that you're fantastic week after week. Now they're all stuck in their little bizarre ruts with no chance of improving.

Yup. And that's where I REALLY miss Simon this season. I wasn't always 100% helpful, but he was at least the voice of reason.

I think Scotty is one of the ones that has really suffered for not having any critical or constructive feedback. He had a bunch of minor tics and quirks when he first started, but the judges kept telling him how wonderful he was week after week, and he amped up trying to do more of what he thought the judges liked. Now the tics and quirks have taken over the performance.
I've heard Chris Martin sing Viva La Vida live and his voice is not good, but at least he's a professional who performs well. While Casey, James, and Scotty were singing, all I could see was a schlocky karaoke performance with bad choreography. What was with all the pointing?

That's because she's dressing like her mother, an actual Atlanta housewife. It takes one to know one.
It's amazing that over the past few seasons, there has been a bromance on AI. We've had Chris/Ace, Phil/Chris, the Davids, Adam/Kris, Andrew/Lee, and now James/Stefano. Stefano's exit I must admit was classy and I sort of felt bad for James when it was announced.
I'm surprised that the TPTB and the judges aren't pimping Haley more than Lauren. Yes, Lauren can sing, but Haley with her personality and her autotune-ready voice should be this season's Lee.

Alright Casey, I gave you a shot - now you need to go. Why does he think that "Mmmmph" is a good noise to make? It sounds like a sex sound, and thank you very much I don't need to ever hear that. The only one I even halfway like anymore is Tourettes, and even that's iffy.
I think I'm done - I don't even care who wins. I'm really digging The Voice so far, so I think I'll just camp out there.
Did anyone see the Steven Tyler interview? Basically he took the Idol job as an F you to Aerosmith... he's proving to them that he can get a gig without them (OK). And he claims that he beat out Roger Daltry for the job. Huh? We never even heard one single rumor about that guy.

They are all awful, this is definitely the worst season ever--and the judges comments are just laughable. I agree, Tourette's maybe has 4 or 5 notes in his range that sound decent but that's not exactly high praise.
These are also the most smug contestants I can remember in years. And why? Shouldn't the talent match up? I'm sad I missed The Voice.
