Well, I do think the voters are mostly young girls. Which would explain Tiara Princess - who by the way gets more southern every week. Didn't she start out as a sort of Kelly Clarkson rocker? Now she's twanging up a storm. I remember Josh Gracin pulled the country out of his pocket after he became a finalist too.

I think Paul might be a little better if he'd stop bopping all around the stage. He almost seems to lose breath control, and just looks dopey doing it.

Casey looked possessed - or like he was doing a comedy impression of Cobain. Stop it, go back to jazzy.

I think Stefano has the best recording voice. Super smooth. But he's just kinda awkward kid-ish on stage.

I wish to hell someone would tell Jacob to tone it the F down. Who is this douchebag producer who's getting himself camera time every week? I admit to not paying enough attention.

She auditioned with a Faith Hill/Tim McGraw song (before she sang Aerosmith at the end), they found her in Nashville and she sang Reba and Shania the first two weeks. Her sparkly Toddlers and Tiaras dress had matching cowboy boots. I think her country credentials are pretty solid. Before the season premiere, Nigel was saying that Kelly and Carrie were the only two real stars who had won and that they'd found this amazing 15 year old in Nashville. Then you see her, and it's this blond girl with an outgoing personality who sings country, but pop, too: Carrie and Kelly all in one person! Or at least that's now Nigel sees it.

Jimmy Iovine, a bigwig with Interscope. This season they decided not to have celebrity mentors each week, but this guy working with the contestants pushing them to do what TPTB want instead of having good ideas of their own and ruining the show's plans for the whole season. He goes to the tapings and the reporters who get to attend note his reactions to the performances. He seems to be a huge fan of Stefano, but not so much Scotty, if his applause (or lack of it) is anything to go by.

Remember how the producers had said there weren't going to be narrow theme weeks this season and they've been telling everyone to stay in their lane? Well, scratch that, this week they're doing Motown. I think they realized it was going to get really boring if they all just sang whatever they wanted every week.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I liked Scotty's performance this week. I think that could actually be a hit on country radio. I voted for Casey, though.

I think Scotty would do really really well on country radio. Between that voice and his teenage adorableness, he'll do really well in that genre I suspect. Even though he's kind of one note, I enjoy his voice and his performances.

I think Scotty has to kick a puppy on stage or something to lose at this point. With this group of judges (who think everyone is fantastic), we're not going to hear too many negative things this year. Simon had the power to sway the voting according to who he loved or hated.

"Hello"? Motown? Everyone was rockin' the old school 60's-70's Motown and Stefano pops up with a song already made famous by David Cook? I'm still pulling for him because he seems as sweet as a little puppy (hey, maybe that's who Scotty can kick on stage!).

My favorite vocal was Pia - that was gorgeous. But yeah, she's ballad lady, and not a very interesting one. I think Thia and Haley need to mosey along now (maybe Scotty can sing a country ballad about it).. oh so boring. And Casey? He lost me. He's just sort of a growling caricature right now. He and Haley can go off and growl together and scare young children (my whole post is dog themed, hmm).

Thia was terrible. (Casey kind of was too...) And Stefano...what were you thinking? That's a terrible song. Lightening does NOT strike twice in the same place. David Cook managed to make something out of it but he's...David Cook. You're not.

Yeah...Simon would have had some of these for lunch, but I'm not missing him. And is it me or did we actually get some spot on, constructive criticism last night from Miss WAAAAAY too much green/blue eyeshadow?

I'm convinced they've drugged Lauren to keep her in line. She's just odd lately.

Thia seems very pageanty to me. Her clothes, her movement, even the way she sings... it all makes me feel like I'm watching Miss America.

I hate it when contestants move down off the stage and start singing to the judges.

I want to comment on Naima regarding her singing. She's not a belter or a diva. She'll never be Pia or even Thia, but her inspirations are India.Arie and Erykah Badu, two R&B singers not known for their vocal acrobatics. I am surprised no one (I'm talking to you, Jimmy Iovine) has brought this up. I wish she would cut down on the dancing a bit.

As for last night's show, I would send Thia home. If I were to attend an AI tour (I'm not), Thia's lack of stage presence is a bit off putting (I can sit through Pia because of the pipes). Yes, I could sit through Haley doing her Haley Scarnato impersonation complete with hot pants.

Paul's teeth are ridiculously white. They practically glow. Reminds of that Friends episode.
