I agree, the beginning is great. Well done, whoever did that.
Sean Bean is quite good. He's really aged in the decade since LOTR, but he's great.

I'm guessing the amount of liquor he ingests off set is contributing to his looks as well. Ironically it serves him well in the rugged roles he chooses, and although his private life's a madhouse, I believe he's always been a committed professional during shoots.

You are talking about a man, who would leave early to be on time on location somewhere in the mountains of New Zealand. On foot for some parts, simply because he's terrified of flying in helicopters. In full Boromir costume.

Yes! I remember that story from the LOTR extras.
Peter Dinklage also must be having a grand time. Tyrion is as strong a character as any other, and he's got a sense of humor (and a libido) men twice his height can't seem to muster.

To quote Pulp Fiction: personality goes a long way.  I'm happy to see a fantasy-type story where someone obviously paid attention to creating great characters and picking good actors. Not just throwing a lot of magic and dragons and sparkly stuff at the audience, hoping we'll overlook acting and dialogue. |

No judging here either. In fact, I said to Mr S that his casting is the only questionable one looks-wise. Tyrion isn't only supposed to be a dwarf, but deformed and hard to look at. Peter Dinklage is too handsome!
