I read that headline as AMC Inexplicably Ressurects 'The Killing' for a Third Season.
Lamest. Series. Ever.

Well, the storyline seems promising. The main problem with the first two seasons is that they were bogged down by Linden's personal life that made absolutely no sense and the political back story that got more and more comical. Then there was the victim's family and all their drama, which I actually liked in the beginning, but it went on for too long and went off in too many directions. With that soap opera crap out of the way and the focus being more on the crime itself this could end up being good. I would assume that the only reason Veena Sud got another chance with this is that she got her ass handed to her and was forced to learn from her mistakes. I'll give it a try anyway. You never know.

The proposed storyline does sound interesting, but I don't really trust the writers or Sud to follow through with it. They will find some way to muck it up.

I thought I'd check out the show since there isn't much on Sunday nights during the summer. And it actually isn't that bad.
We're dealing with a serial killer who's targeting young girls who are runaways and/or street kids (who prostitute as well) and it's got a tie-in to a case that was mentioned in the previous season that Linden dealt with.
There's more back story here that makes a lot more sense and I'm able to follow it with the standard crime/cop shows on TV today. The only difference is that it's one continuous story and not a new storyline each week like SVU or Criminal Minds.
Linden isn't as lame to watch and she's a little more on point, IMO. So, I think I'll stick it out as long as they can keep my attention and not completely go down the drain.

I watch for Holder. I don't know what it is about him, but I could watch/listen to him all day long. And I also appreciated that serenity tattoo/Firefly shout out, even if it was unintentional.

They've fixed a lot of what was wrong with the first two seasons. There's been almost nothing about Linden's personal life. Let's hope her son is gone like Poochy. They've shown them doing competent police work (the scenes of unrealistic police life have switched to unrealistic prison life). Mireille Enos isn't chewing in every scene. The plot is moving a bit quicker and we're not getting interminable atmospheric shots of people standing around in fog. The teen/"teen" actors they've gotten to play the street kids have been really, really good. The one who plays Bullet is a heartbreaker.

One thing that bugs me is how Linden finally found that dumping grounds location. I mean I get that the little boy who's father was charged with all these murders drew pictures and all, but he added one extra thing four years later of some large, barn-like structures which were totally random at best and BAM she figured it out?
There are a lot of rural places in the Seattle area, but none that rural (and not near SeaTac) and boggy. Besides, that picture was too obscure to really know for sure where it was at. I mean, it could have been totally off the beaten path away from Seattle.
I wasn't buying that, but whatever they need to progress the story along, I guess.

I have been watching this season and am finding it to be much, much improved over the first two. The storytelling is tighter and the plot quite compelling. I am really enjoying it. For anyone who gave up after the first two seasons, consider giving it another try.

I love this season. Holder's slang and mannerisms crack me up. I did get something in my eye in the scene where he told Bullet her friend was probably dead. Hearing the daughter's phone ring in the boyfriend's bag wigged me right the f*ck out. They've definitely learned from their mistakes, plot and pacing-wise.
eta: Loved the Serenity connection, even if it was incidental.

Well, that ending actually made me gasp a bit!
Peter Skarsgard always makes me think of a younger John Malkovich, in a good way.
ETA: Two weeks later ... Dammit! Why did they have to do that to Bullet?
