I wonder if it's the friend in the wig in the video rather than Rosie. Seems like it's a little too obvious that it would be Rosie. I'm also wondering if Billy campbell's gf set that staffer up. I think you're right on both counts. I think it is very telling that the girl's face is never shown on the video. And I didn't catch it, but someone over at TWoP said that at one point in the video you can see her neck/chest area, and she is not wearing the butterfly necklace Rosie was wearing when her body was found. I think it was her friend Sterling. And I've seen some speculation that Sterling's little nose bleed problem is due to a cocaine habit, which would explain why she was hanging out with the druggie kids. Two questions - I couldn't tell, were Jasper and Kris just passing the camera back and forth, or was there a third person there filming? Also, over at TWoP people keep speculating that Jack is actually some "crack whore's" son, and not Linden's son. I don't recall any mention of a crack whore. Did I miss something? For the record, I think Jack is Linden's son. I think she's just got a bit of a checked past herself, and she really wants a better life for her kid.

Thanks for the el diablo explanation.
I noticed the lack of necklace on the girl in the video and wondered about that.
I think the Jack/crack whore son confusion comes from the scene where the two cops are in an office (in the premier) and there are some little-kid drawings and Linden makes a comment about they were done by a crack whore's kid. They were kind of scary drawings and I think the male detective thought they were Jack's, and Linden corrected him saying they were done by a crack whore's kid. Or something like that. I think some of the TWoPers were just being too literal and/or obtuse.

I didn't even notice the mssing necklace because I was so horrified by the video and the thought that poor Rosie's last hours must have been living hell with the rape, being chased through a dark forest and then being put into a trunk only to find herself in a water grave, fighting to get out. But yeah, it would make sense if it was Sterling.
Also, I may have missed something because some of the dialogue was difficult to understand for me: there was a lot of blood in the cage thing at school. Did they determine whose it was? Because when we first saw Rosie she didn't seem to have injuries on her that would lead to such a loss of blood, no? Of course, she could have first been chased and then brought to school but I'm not sure about that.

I'm sure they will and will probably get the news from the lab that the blood isn't Rosie's right around the time they are arresting Jasper and Kris. Ah, okay. I thought I had missed something. It's pretty typical of TWoP to take one little nugget like that and spin it into all sorts of theories. I absolutely believe that Jack is Linden's kid. The only way he's a crack whore's son would be if Linden is a former crack whore.

Yup. I was so disturbed by what was taking place, I didn't notice if there was or wasn't a necklace. I think it probably was Sterling.

Oooh, you are absolutely right. Now that you mention it I recall saying "Is that Widmore!?!" during the preview. Thanks - I am a huge Lostie and got all excited when you mentioned it. I don't know if Dale will appear later in the season (it's not listed on his imdb page), but Michelle Forbes (Rosie's mom) was in one episode of season 4.

I too thought that the female staffer set up the other male staffer for being the campaign leak. She's a little too obvious, but I think it's intentional. Also, I think it's Sterling in the video, too. I noticed there was no necklace and that we didn't see her face.
From the dance video, Sterling didn't have a costume. I'm thinking that Rosie gave her the hat and wig when she herself left with maybe someone else. And I don't think it was the teacher.
Is it possible that we just haven't met the killer yet? Could it be the mayor? Overall, I'm liking this series and thankful that it's on AMC On Demand, since I didn't get my DVR to record this.

I just watched the first 3 episodes and loved it. It is well done, shot, acted, written. Watching Rosie's family is genuinely heartbreaking for me.

well, it's gotta be the cop. He's shifty-eyed. Shifty-eyed!!!/Homer Simpson
I have no idea at this point, but the poilical part has to be red herring. Except for one thing. Billy Campbell (The Rocketeer, EnoughDynasty is the biggest star of the show.

Well, now that we've seen that the teacher had been swapping love letters to Rosie and met up with her at the B-Ball center (sponsored by the Congressman) in the bad part of town, this show just threw a bunch of MORE peeps into the mix.
Nicely done! Obviously, he had access to the campaign cars, so now you have to wonder what this is all about. Unless, he's being set up because he was having an affair with Rosie and the car was stolen.
I have to wonder if maybe someone pretending to be him, picked her up in the car and then she was totally doomed from that point on.
