I really like this show a lot and I am ABC's bitch on Wednesdays because of Happy Endings, Modern Family, and Revenge. But my one criticism is that Zachary Knighton has godawful hair and needs a new style stat. In his scenes, I find myself staring at that greasy, limpy mess on his head and forgetting to actually watch the show.

And here's part two of the on-set Q&A. You know, I didn't realize it until it was pointed out elsewhere, but besides Max as the non-cliched gay guy, there's also a big subversion of a sitcom trope with Jane and Brad - a perfectly happy, still horny for each other married couple, who may have minor disagreements but are still clearly over-the-moon for each other. And it's an interracial couple! And Brad is more of a yuppie/metrosexual than a cliched black guy. Atreides - get thee to the archives of the Endowments thread and look at Zachary's magnificent cock to distract you from the bad hair.

Maybe I just hate Christmas episodes in general, but last night's was limping towards Suckitude. A couple of good lines but the rest was deeply disappointing.

I felt the same. Even the intro, which is usually my favorite bit, was choppy. Also, I didn't like the way Jane behaved.

Anyone watch tonight? I had to pause my playback because I started laughing-til-it-hurt at Max's Princess Diana tshirt.

Yeah, that was an inspired choice by Jane. I love their crazy OTT competitiveness and Jane is my favourite character.
But are they trying to start up a Dave/Penny coupling now? I don't know about that. I can't remember the two of them having any major one-on-one scenes until last night. It was funny seeing Brad and Alex getting to know each other and bond over their mutual love of bad romantic comedies.

no no no. I don't like Dave and Penny together. I felt like Alex and Brad's story made the most sense. Jane and Max? Why create this whole story about who gets the sweater just to have them paired up in the episode? I just felt that was reaching. But yeah, I loved his booties Edited for typing error. "This" and "his" are not the same. ETA: Yeah, bstewart, I get that. I think it was cute how "RL" was mirroring the romcom A and B were watching. And agree, they don't really work as a couple.

I'm hoping the Dave/Penny thing was a one-off play on the romcom conventions which were being spoofed, though they could play with it over a longer arc, that they feel they *should* hook up but don't really feel it.

I thought the Dave/ Penny thing was poking fun at the romcom conventions too. Like how they walked by the fountain at the end and didn't even acknowledge it as a romantic setting. I hope it is not something the show is seriously going to pursue. Relationship drama between main characters is generally the death of sitcoms. Just the few serious Dave/Alex storylines they have had, have been the least funny moments of the show.
Max's outfit was great. But I loved Jane's too. I thought she looked disturbingly like Jerri Blank.
