Book 3 and movie 3 was where it all off the rails. The books got bloated and convoluted. The movies threw in a few bits from from the book so hardcore fans would get the warm and fuzzies for recognizing something. After slogging through most of the books I conclude: the character of Dean was majorly robbed on screen especially in the last 2 movies. Heck it really should have been a foursome roaming all over the country, but they kept it to the HP trinity.

I thought the third and fourth movies were the best. I don't think they should have stuck with David Yates. He was a weaker director than the previous two directors.

I did some digging and I'm not sure what this movie is about. Are they starting out with Sarah as a teen and Arnold the Terminator coming from the future to protect her so she can later meet Kyle Reese who comes from the same future to protect Sarah from Arnold the Terminator so that Kyle Reese can impregnate Sarah with John Connor? That wouldn't make much sense (not that these movies ever did really). But it's being reported that John Connor is being played by Jason Clarke, who is in his 40s, so now I'm really confused!! There's also going to be a TV series which sounds like it will be a comeback of sorts for the Sarah Connor Chronicles. If so, I'm looking forward to that. I loved that show and was sad to see it go.

I haaaated both the Hobbit movies. I saw the Desolation of Smaug last night and I was hoping the dragon would eat everyone, starting with that stupid little hobbit. Even Legolas couldn't save it for me.

Even Legolas couldn't save it for me. Mr s and I were fans of the LOTR movies, but hated the first Hobbit so much that we decided to skip the second. Especially after reading about some things in the second movie. A lot of people have been comparing Peter Jackson to George Lucas in how they pissed off their fan bases with their "prequels," and this is way unpopular but I'm actually going to defend Lucas. At least it was his world, his story and his characters and he could do with them what he wanted. Was it stupid? Yes. But PJ is messing with things and changing the story in ways he has no business doing. This was a beloved children's book that didn't need to be tweaked or added to, or padded out to three movies. He has shown his arrogance, greed and ego and definitely lost a fan in me.

I'll give an even more unpopular opinion and say that I didn't like the Lord of the Rings movies. Or I should say I didn't like the first one. The second half of it was so unbelievably boring I didn't bother to see the other two.

I have never seen any of the Godfather movies and generally despise all things Mafia related.

Not liking The Hobbit is not really unpopular on this board, so my unpopular movie opinion is that I LOVE the Hobbit movies. Not as much as I loved the LOTR movies, but I'm so happy to be back in the universe that I don't care how much Peter Jackson drags out the movies. I haven't had a movie experience like these since LOTR.

I have never seen any of the Godfather movies and generally despise all things Mafia related. I only watched The Godfather because of Sarah Vowell's mention of it in one of her essays, and my reaction was, "I can see why people like it. Now, moving on..." I don't care for them, or any of the other of the genre, either, and I will see your Mafia and expand it to organized crime family/gang stuff in general.
