I loved Gwen's return, and the reminder of what a good person Sybil was. I agree. I felt a little teary while she was talking about Sybil. Me too. I loved the look on Tom's face.

Has Matthew Goode returned yet? He was the only reason I watched this season.

That was almost Alien Chestburster right there. Not what I expected from Downton. Being unspoiled, I had a true gasp-out loud moment.
I was pretty sure after last week that Robert's health was going to finsh the hospital merger storyline and after this week, I'm convinced this is what brings Violet around.

I gasped about Lord Grantham, but loved it. I thought that was such a huge wake up call for the downtonites, since dinner has always been a very proper place for them all.
So, talk about the irony of this happening at dinner and in front of Neville Chamberlain, future PM. Wow
I'm unspoiled completely, other than Matthew Goode showing up, but I have a bad feeling about the dowager countess. And that illiterate footman? Is totally wanting to marry and live happily ever after with Daisy. And she doesn't even realize it! Snap him up Daisy!!

Hee hee, I'm guessing the episode where Downton Abbey decided to be a Tarantino film just aired in the US? God, that scene was horrible yet weirdly hilarious at the same time because it was such an unexpected thing for them to do.

I watched this whole season online at Christmas but was still taken aback to see it on a bigger TV screen. It was probably the most shocking thing to happen since the show began. The splatter across the glittering dinner guests alone was worthy of a slow-mo replay.

My favorite part is that Isobel, the trained nurse sitting to Robert's right, has one of the biggest reactions, flapping her arms in terror before collecting herself and grabbing napkins. The DC on the other hand, doesn't start to panic until his second heave (that hits Cora in the face) and kinda sits there like, "Oh, now what, Robert?" It's beautiful in .gif form.
