No thread for this yet, really? Does this mean no one has been watching?
I'm enjoying it so far even though it seems like they are still ironing out the kinks. I don't understand why they've jumped from a city to somewhere else and then back again, and even though I knew the situation with Cheryl and Nicole beforehand, it's still confusing to see it onscreen. I really like Cheryl, so I wish they had kept her. And I don't think they would have the "DOA" problem with Cheryl/Paula like they do with Nicole/Paula. I just don't think Nicole has a very likable personality. I did crack up when she shut down Simon by busting out some Whitney last night, though. And I like L.A. Reid and the fact that he keeps Simon on his toes. Simon seems more alive on this show in a way that he didn't on his last couple seasons on American Idol.
The standouts for me last night were the Bieber girl, burrito guy, and the Boyz II Men group. I also liked the guy who was singing with the girl he was in love with- I thought his voice was waaay better than hers and was surprised the judges didn't say so.
I can't believe they put through the Radiohead guy. I couldn't even watch his audition, it was giving me the willies.
Oh and I love having Paula Abdul back on my TV. Good times.

I am really liking the show, too! I also wish they had kept Cheryl - I really like her, and find Nicole boring with the potential to get really annoying.

Nicole is unlikeable. Talented, yes. But definitely unpleasant.
I'm enjoying the show, too! I purposely didn't watch any sining competition shows this year so that I could go into this one fresh.

So what's the deal with Cheryl? I was confused by the switching around since I don't know the back story. Nicole is very...um..she comes across really bitchy. I'd never seen (nor heard of) Cheryl before but really liked her.

I think the reasons given for firing Cheryl range from they decided she was homesick to the audience wouldn't be able to understand her accent. I don't think we've gotten the whole story. I think she's better than Nicole.

Really? I think she's bland. I think Nicole has more of a personality- I didn't find her unlikeable. I feel like I missed something

Anyone still watching this? Simon seems completely uninterested and in Nicole's opinion, and when she does offer it he seems to disagree or dismiss it. Makes me wonder even more about whatever the hell went on with firing Cheryl.

I am. And I like it better every week. It definitely feels the same as all the others in the beginning...but the talent seems better, wider in diversity of styles, ages, stories, etc. And the judges seem...much saner in comparison to everything else. I especially like the new guy.
