I've never minded him, but I don't care for the new wife.
I still say within 5 years she'll divorce him and take half his money.
ETA: Since she has raised money for landmine removal I guess I shouldn't call her a "Trophy Bint". And "Gold Digger" suggests someone that actually put some effort into getting the guy, rather than just a garden variety skank who took advantage of a multi-millionaire who had just lost his wife of many years.

Why only go for half? If she sticks around until he croaks then she could try to get the whole damn lot. Not that his kids will cede their inheritance very easily to stepmother dearest. Unless Paul's got his money tied up very, very carefully, I predict major wrangling over his money.

I thought I read somewhere that there wasn't a prenup which didn't endear her towards the stepkids at all.

Prenups aren't binding in Britain.
When he was on Howard Stern's show, Stern grilled him pretty well about the money issue and his kids. He asked if Paul's kids were worried about the money, and he said no, it wasn;t that. And the bulk of his estate will go to his children: "I told them, listen, this will alter things somewhat, but I'm a good guy and it's taken care of." Judging by Linda's airtight will, I have no doubt. Also, Paul's chief lawyer and business manager is his eldest children's uncle (Linda's brother).

Not that I have any particular affection for Paul's elder children (Stella is a prat, IMHO) but it would suck for them if Heather Mills was allowed to waltz off with all his money. I know she raises money for lots of charities and does good works blah blah, but she seriously annoys me everytime I see or read anything about her.
I was very happy though when she went on Parkinson and made a complete ass of herself. Her fellow guests were Dawn French and George Clooney and they both just talked over the top of her. Heather tried to interject with some inane comment about how "men love fat women too" (with Dawn French sitting next to her, bitch) and Parkinson, George and Dawn just looked at her briefly and resumed their conversation with each other. Then George did this thing where he mock-kissed Dawn French and you could so tell that Heather so did not think that was funny because it was taking all the attention away from her world-saving self. After she was ignored a few times, she shut up for the rest of the show and sat their watching the clever and witty conversation fly between the others - it was like watching the crowd at Wimbledon as her bobblehead just went back and forth between George and Dawn. Good times. ;D

Wow, Yosarrian, I saw that episode of Parky as well and that's not how I remember it all. For one thing, IIRC Heather was the last guest. And Parky isn't a round table discussion, just a regular chat show, so George and Dawn just sat in their chairs and were quiet because they had had their segments. I didn't even notice them until there was a wide shot or Parky mentioned George Clooney's name or something and they had a reaction shot of him. If Dawn and George had been constantly talking over her I think I would've noticed, if just to note how rude that would've been for them to talk and monopolize another's guest's time after they already had their segments. (And I also would've noted Dawn French, because I'm a big AbFab fan but have only heard of Dawn French's show with Jennifer Saunders, never actually seen her and always wondered what she's like.) But I recall it as a perfectly normal chat show appearance, not a free for all. But then, I've liked Heather ever since I read her book several years ago.
Keep in mind that Paul is so rich, if he died tomorrow and leaves Heather half his money, his five children would still get $100 million. Each. And there would be $100 million dollars still left over.
Reportedly, Stella was the one who had problems with him getting remarried (she denied, but that was after the fact, so who knows). I have a hard time believing she'd be doing it out of concern for her inheritance, considering she's a multi-millionaire in her own right now, aside from her family.

Poor Frances, maybe I've altered it in my memory because of my intense dislike for the woman (can you tell?). But I definitely remember that Heather came out first, spoke about her work and her loss of a leg and how angry she got when people asked if they were going to try for a baby when she has infertility problems. Dawn then came out and spoke about her career and marriage (giving Heather the opportunity for the "men love fat women too" comment) before George came on. Just before George walked out, Dawn started on about how she'd leave her husband for him so then when George walked on he hammed it up and kissed Dawn in his oh-so-suave way. They probably didn't ignore her as obviously as I described and they certainly weren't rude to Heather - but to me it just seemed like whenever she spoke up they acknowledged her with the sickly kind of please shut up smile. Oh well, she probably is an OK person underneath all her bravado (Paul married her after all) but she just bugs me!
I have to give her one thing though - she wore a beautiful wedding dress.

No, Yossarian, I think you're right: she did come out first. (I remember wondering why George was last, so your memory makes sense). But OTOH, I could've sworn Clooney was on the stage when Heather was being interviewed. It's been years since I've seen it, though, and it was only that once. I think she comes of fine, but also kind of guarded or cold in interviews. (Interestingly, I remember Paul noting that about Linda as well). I remember very early on when she did Stars And Their Lives and Paul was the surprise guest; when he was sitting next to her it seemed like the first time she was able to relax in the interview. In her book, she comes across as very snarky and steely, but also fairly cold toward men in general (except Paul). She seems to carry a lot of scars from her abusive father. BTW, here is an excellent nterview of Paul conducted by Chrissie Hynde, seven months after Linda died. What did it in for me: reading him discuss Linda losing her hair from chemo, he still talks about her in tones most guys would reserve for a supermodel.

On Parkinson, the least famous guest is interviewed first, followed by the next least, followed by the most famous. I assume it's so that the most famous doesn't have to sit there being mostly ignored for the majority of the show. So it makes sense that Heather would be first, Dawn second and George third.
No matter how famous Heather is, she's basically famous for being a wife, not famous in her own right (charity work notwithstanding).
She also seems slightly dodgy to me. I remember seeing an interview with her where she was defending her charity (can't remember the name of it), after she'd been accused of it being a sham. The money didn't seem to be getting through to wherever it was supposed to. One problem in clearing up the confusion (and proving who was right and who was wrong) was the lack of records. She said that you only have to keep records for five years, so she'd chucked 'em all out. Problem was, the first year's records were five or six years old...but the last three years' worth of records were definitely less than five years old at the time.
I think Paul fell for Heather because of the superficial similarities between them.
Btw, I think Linda McCartney's vegetarian range of foods made it a heck of a lot easier to be a veggie in the UK - and I'll always admire her for that.
