I know I was pretty surprised when I read about it myself. Surprised but not shocked. Linda seemed a free spirit. Who knows, maybe she allowed it.

My theory is that the same impulses that drive a person to go into show business (the need for attention and approval from an unlimited numbers of people, addiction to novelty and excitement and risk-taking) are the same ones that make a person promiscuous, and of course the show business lifestyle offers a maximum of opportunity for casual sex, so you kind of have to expect that your favorite celebrities will behave in ways that you personally might consider gross. I would be really shocked to find out that Paul McCartney had been sexually continent all these years.
Of course it's always a pleasant surprise to run across a celeb who was actually faithful to his wife (Charles Boyer reportedly was, and Harry Houdini only cheated once and felt terrible about it.)

He might go all the way down to $1.1 billion, poor baby. Stella is a millionairess in her own right so she shouldn't be too concerned.

Stella is probably loving this because she always hated Heather and thought she was a famewhore.

I always thought Stella was the big ol' famewhore -- and she designs heinously fugly clothing.
My impression of HM was that she's a forthright, take no shit kind of woman. I liked her in TV interviews; she seems attractive and genuinely interested in helping people. The public never gave her a chance, IMHO, and she could never live up to Saint Linda.

Forgot to add prenups aren't legally binding in Britain.
borbory, come sit by me! I think Heather was the perfect type for Paul, a lot like Linda who no one liked until she died. Today Paul posted a message on his website defending Heather and telling people not to blame her, which made me laugh because it really deflated the haters.

Before all of this the most recent thing I'd seen about these two in the press was Heather talking about how she made Paul give up smoking pot, and how Paul and Linda had smoked pot every day for their entire marriage. Maybe seeing Heather when he wasn't high made him change his mind.

Paul definitely loves having a Mama Lion in his life. Seems to be his type. Unfortunately, fierce, take-control women can still be a turn-off to people -- I myself am sometimes guilty of thinking "bitch" when I should be admiring them for having the same qualities that would be commendable in a man.
Okay, enough politics from me.
For awhile our local news station did this thing -- Before it segued into The Today Show, they'd have a pretty, lingering shot of Boston and it would last only about 20 seconds and would be accompanied by a snippet of music -- always something different. On the morning they'd announced Linda McCartney's death the music was a few lines from "Golden Slumbers." The part they used was "Sleep pretty baby don't you cry, and I will sing a lullaby."
When I first heard that she'd died, that morning, I'd thought, "Aw. Too bad..." But when they played a bit of Golden Slumbers I actually got a tear in my eye. And I'd never been too crazy about her.

hazelpethig, love the screen name! What costumes will you design for us CPMCoGers? I was never too fond of Heather, and my friends in London who have had occasion to be around her have confirmed my suspicions that she's a big opportunist/fameho. Now Paul is free to marry me - or at least start a polygamist cult where we can all have a crack at him.
