I always pictured Plutarch as the actor that played Otho in Beetlejuice. Or any heavy set, mincing egomaniac. PSH is shorter and blonder, but I think he would make it work. I'm more interested in who'll eventually play Coin. I imagine her as a mix of Frances McDormand and Sigourney Weaver. Or Holly Hunter and Helen Mirren. Whomever they cast, she'll need to be steely and sinister, but come off as approachable.

I really wanted PSH for Haymitch but I will settle for Plutarch. I also pictured the guy from Beetlejuice when reading CF.

I pictured Cherry Jones for Coin, but that's only because she was so good as the president on 24.

My daughter mentioned Wendie Mallick for Coin. She has that steely, hard look about her.

Wow, I went through those books so fast, I've already forgotten book 2 names. I'll have to check out the Hunger Wiki (do NOT visit unless you've read all books or don't mind being spoiled by accident).

That is cool! You will have to let us know if he gets the part. Supposedly the frontrunners for Johanna Mason are Mia Wasikowska & Zoe Aggeliki I think Mia Wasikowska is a great actress but I don't know if she can do feisty. She seems to do best in passive roles. Don't know anything about Zoe Aggeliki but she kinda looks the part. There has been so many casting rumours though so who knows if it is true.

I think Mia could definitely pull it off. She's a name but not big enough as to overshadow any of the main cast. That said, I'm kind of in the "anyone but Kristen Stewart" camp.

Way back when casting rumors and ideas for Johanna started flying, I realized that what I imagined her looking like is apparently not at all how she was described in the books (kind of like how some people just imagined Rue looking like Prim and were really confused watching the movie), so I'm cool with them just casting any good actress. The "good" qualifier is extremely important. Johanna is a tough, crazy, meaty role.

I actually remember someone suggesting Jennifer Lawrence for Johanna before she was cast as Katniss, and I think that would have been perfect. But Mia Wasikowska would work. She's not as brawny and tall as I imagined, but she's a really good actress.

My friend's brother is Ian Harding, who is apparently very popular with the teenage set? I think Garret Hedlund is the closest they've come to how I imagined Finnick, but he's still not beautiful enough. I'm in the Jesse Williams camp.

In Treatment was critically underrated and underseen but even though Mia is not 'what I pictured' as Johanna, like very other actor on the show, I now believe her as capable of ANYTHING.
