Jeffrey Wright cast as Beetee! Love him, I think he'll be awesome. So excited about the sequel! But of course the racists are mad.

He'll be awesome! Sure, I pictured him white too, but he's a damn good actor so I'm good with him being cast.
Have they officially cast Wiress yet?

Amanda Plummer is playing Wiress. Excellent casting, IMO! Hunger Games Facebook posts all of the casting news.

OK, I totally pictured Beetee as black when I was reading the book. When I was reading casting-discussions later, I went back to the book to see why I had such a strong feeling that he was black, but I couldn't find anything. Wright will be brilliant I think, he matches almost precisely what I had in my head and that doesn't happen very often.

I pictured BeeTee as black as well. I don't have the books in front of me to see why. Love him though. I'm still not sold on Malone though. Something about her isn't doing it for me.

I think Jeffrey Wright will be great as Beetee too. But I thoughts Tony Shalhoub was playing him? Or was that a different part?

I somehow imagined him older, rounder and crotchety-er.

Hah! That joke will never die! It just makes me laugh I can say it with authenticity now. I, too, pictured BeeTee a little older and crochety. But the only thing about him that really stuck with me was the glasses. I have no idea why. Haha. AS LONG AS THEY GET THAT RIGHT... I'm good. Jesus. I don't know why people care so much about race with these books. I've never seen such an OMG!! about fictional characters in my life. Then again, I'm still bitter about the Peeta casting (and I didn't even care much for him), so I'll go sip some Haterade while I cry about picturing him taller and prettier.
