She made the last 10 seconds of "Take Shelter" perfect, too. She bugged the hell outta me the first time I saw her, though. Musta been the resemblance to Bryce. Can't stand her.

I think I'm going to go see it again tomorrow. It really affected me. I feel like I want to go back and study everything about it, especially Chastain's performance and the direction of the raid scene (HOW did Bigelow not get a nomination?! TRAVESTY).
Since we're talking about Chastain's looks, something I found interesting in the film is that her character is both young and stunningly beautiful in a workplace that is 99% men, yet there is never made a mention of her looks, just her youth. I thought that was excellent, because unlike the usual movie tactic of "obvious sexist boss is obvious" with, like, pats on the ass and sexual comments and stuff, the underlying current of institutional sexism was much more subtle, but still played a big role in affecting her ability to do her job.

I really don't like anything about her look. Really hate the hair. She's got a Nicole Kidman size forehead going on there. Don't like the color or cut of that dress. It looks like she's got saggy boobs going on thanks to that dress.
She's been more miss than hit on this years awards show circuit for me.

Oh the hair........a hairdresser should be fired for that look!. What is going on with her hair? Is she really a natural blond or is her hair thinning? Either way, I agree with you - some hairdresser, somewhere needs to be fired for that. |

Whoa. That dress is really unflattering from every angle. And she's giving me Gary Oldman in Bram Stoker's Dracula with the hairdo. Not a good look.
