Amanda Seyfried's been offered the role of Cossette. The director apparently wants to use no voice doubles, which I approve of, and I like Amanda's singing voice.
ETA: And apparently Swift is Eponine.
Between this and being passed over for the 'Funny Girl' revival, alongside the bombing of 'New Year's Eve,' how much do we think that Lea Michelle quietly seethes and/or sobs these days?

So apparently the cast will be doing their singing live on set, which is pretty much code for "they suck". Shoving big stars into every role is a baaaaad idea and I have a feeling this movie is going to suck hard core.

I guess I'm late, if in fact it has been decided, but I think Evan Rachel Wood could make a great Eponine. Sure, she can be pretty obnoxious in real life, but she can act, she can sing, and she has that vulnerable, underdog quality.

Apparently Taylor Swift is out and the unfortunately named Samantha Barks is in. At least she can actually sing. |

Curious to hear what happened with Taylor. All the pics of her hanging around in London had me thinking the role was a done deal. So was it not locked down and she was still auditioning or did they change their mind about her?

I have the 25th Anniversary concert at home. Samantha is excellent as Eponine so congrats to her. And hey, it's nice to have at least ONE classically trained singer in the main cast (correct me if I'm wrong).

Don't know if they are classically trained necessarily. Hugh can sing 8 shows a week no problem. Anne was doing musical theater as a teenager in NY/NJ. |
