London?? Note to whomever is in charge: Le Mis is a French story. Every book to movie, mini-series, cable epic or musical set from the pre-Jesus era up until say 1910 requires an English accent to sound intelligent, high brow or whatever reason productions use it.

Taylor was visiting the theater producers offices in London. Nothing has been said about filming there, though I'm betting that it's probably going to be all sets at Pinewood/Shepperton and little/nothing filmed in France itself.

The trailer has leaked. It's very poor video quality (someone filming a video file with a camera phone) but you can get an idea of how it will look and how Anne will sound.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Anne Hathaway is already preparing her Best Supporting Actress speech. And her campaign will be "I cut my hair, I starved myself and I sang!!" Oh dear.
Other than that: I love both Hugh and Russell so I'll definitely be there :-)

This trailer had me sobbing within seconds. Anne totally nails that song. And the visuals look incredible. I can't wait.
I read somewhere that Tom Hooper made all the actors record the soundtrack live--so count me doubly impressed and thrilled. I'm so sick of all the auto-tuned, ridiculously slick soundtracks we're usually fed.

Many years ago there was a comic in Parade magazine. It showed a man sitting across a desk from another man, whose nameplate reads "Editor." The editor is saying "Frankly, Monsieur Hugo, we found your novel a trifle depressing. Have you ever considered turning it into a musical?"
I haven't been able to take it seriously ever since.
