This trailer had me sobbing within seconds. Anne totally nails that song. And the visuals look incredible. I can't wait. I read somewhere that Tom Hooper made all the actors record the soundtrack live--so count me doubly impressed and thrilled. I'm so sick of all the auto-tuned, ridiculously slick soundtracks we're usually fed. Oh me too! I am was crying as soon as I heard her voice. That song always gets to me, but Anne's version is just heartbreaking. And everything there looks JUST right. Wow. I wasn't that excited about this before, but now... I can't wait.

Yeah, December can't get here fast enough - that looks damn near perfect. I was kind of on the fence about this but now it's on my must-see list. Anne's interpretation of the song is just right for a film version and for the point of the story it looks like it's been moved to.

Damn, that looks good! The musical's soundtrack was the first ever cassette that I bought.

I know very little about this story, and I'm not big on musicals, but Hugh Jackman? I'm there. And wow Anne Hathaway.

The Guardian's take on the trailer. I don't entirely disagree.

The Guardian's take on the trailer. I don't entirely disagree. That's a stupid article. What the heck did he think Les Miz was about? It wasn't even funny because it sounded like it was written by someone very ignorant.

Well, without having see the movie, I have to cringe at the thought of Russell Crowe's cigarette-ruined voice rasping out Broadway songs. Maybe I'm wrong. I hope so. I do plan to see the movie, so I'll find out.

I think it's a joke (and one that made me laugh)--I can't tell you how many people I know who've gone to see Les Mis over the years, thinking they were in for a big Broadway musical spectacle and coming out wanting to slit their wrists because they "had no idea it would be so...DEPRESSING!" The author of the piece seems to be anticipating the hordes of moviegoers who will storm the theaters come Christmas, eager to see a movie the whole family can enjoy, and who will all stumble home wondering if they blinked and missed the happy part.

You would think the word "Miserables" in the title would sort of indicate that this wasn't a rollicking comedy...
