As dumb as the citizens of Gotham City are, they aren't nearly as stupid as the people of Metropolis. All it takes are a pair of glasses to go incognito in that place!

Finally saw this last night. I was putting it off and then I was spoiled about Robin so I figured I should just see it and get it over with before more spoilers ruined it for me entirely.
I think I really should have rewatched Batman Begins and The Dark Knight before seeing this. I remembered the stuff all the callbacks referred to, but there wasn't much emotion or connection to it for me. Also, something I've always really liked about the Nolan films was how much they focused on Gotham as a city and made it clear how much the environment influenced the characters and in TDKR, I felt like knowing the ins and outs of Gotham was supposed to be knowledge you carried over from the last 2 movies, rather than something that was established here (which is fair enough; I'm sure Nolan doesn't want to repeat himself over and over), and not rewatching meant I wasn't as steeped in the world as I normally feel.
Like many, I loved JGL and thought he was the best thing in the movie. I'm torn on Selina Kyle. I liked the way her character was written and the motivation they gave her, but I also agree with LoveSparky that she had no chemistry with Bale and was obviously putting on a breathy, 'sexy' voice all the time that came off kinda forced. I thought she looked great, though (if a little too thin) and I loved her outfits.
I don't even really blame Hathaway for the voice because when so many characters have voice issues, it's clearly a director's choice. I still hate the Batman voice! When Selina disappears on him and Batman makes a quip about it, I was totally taken out of the moment because all I could think was "Why is he still talking like that when there's no-one around to hear?!"
And don't even get me started on Bane. His voice was so obviously dubbed, it never sounded as if it came from him. And it seemed to go strangely high in the middle of some of his sentences for no reason I could deduce. Most of all, I thought the role was a terrible waste of Tom Hardy. You couldn't see his beautiful face and I just don't think it's possible to really act around a mask like that. They might as well have gotten a WWE wrestler to walk around with half his face covered and given Hardy a real role.
All in all, though, I do appreciate the care that has gone into these movies. They've been intelligent and character-orientated and I wish more Hollywood franchises could say the same.

Finally saw this today. Liked it a lot. From several pages back:
To me, he sounded like Darrell Hammond's version of Sean Connery. Glad we did get that one quick peek at Tom Hardy's face during that flashback.

"Why is he still talking like that when there's no-one around to hear?!" Because he's "Method" man, hardcore Method. At least that's the explanation I came up with because yeah, that moment jumps right out at you. It actually would have been kind of funny and cool if he'd gone instantly to his normal voice and emphasized the whole hiding behind masks/playing roles motif they spelled out for you every ten minutes, ya know just incase you missed it the first 20 times.

I agree with everyone pointing out the sloppy plot mess that happened in the middle-end.
I enjoyed all the actors, but I really wish we'd seen more of Cotillard and Hathaway interacting with Bale. I think Chris Nolan has zero use for women characters (count how many of the extras/supporting cast are women - apparently Gotham is 90% male) and the movie suffered for not allowing those characters to build on themselves. The could have cut some of the Batman suffers scenes, or some of the Bane stands around and talks like a psychotic Sean Connery for no real reason scenes.
I loved Hathaway and Gordon-Levitt and would see a movie with either of them in a second. Just not Catwoman by Nolan. I don't believe for a second he could handle a female-starring film.

I saw one in the scene where the cops are rushing at Bane's army down the street, but it was a blink-and-you'll-miss-her deal. Nolan has never had much use for female characters in his movies. They either die very quickly, are dead to begin with, are duplicitous bitches, or Ellen Page. I was amazed by how much screen time Hathaway got.
