Warner Bros. Pictures' and Legendary Pictures' "The Dark Knight Rises" is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, Leading an all-star international cast, Oscar(R) winner Christian Bale ("The Fighter") again plays the dual role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Anne Hathaway, as Selina Kyle; Tom Hardy, as Bane; Oscar(R) winner Marion Cotillard ("La Vie en Rose"), as Miranda Tate; and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as John Blake. Returning to the main cast, Oscar(R) winner Michael Caine ("The Cider House Rules") plays Alfred; Gary Oldman is Commissioner Gordon; and Oscar(R) winner Morgan Freeman ("Million Dollar Baby") reprises the role of Lucius Fox. The screenplay is written by Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan, story by Christopher Nolan & David S. Goyer.

The (negative) word from folks seeing the 8 minute prologue in front of MI4 in IMAX is that they can literally not understand a single word Bane is saying. Which, on top of Bale's ridiculous accent and how indecipherable Cotillard was in Inception does NOT bode well.

I think TDK was ridiculously overhyped and incoherently edited. Here's a awesome shot-by-shot video deconstruction of all the glaring continuity errors in one of the acclaimed action setpieces.

I'm guessing, though, that Nolan's working with the same team here.

Yeah, still not sold on Hathaway as Catwoman. She just lacks that darkness.

They are definitely going to have to go back into the studio and have Tom re-loop his parts. I wonder why they released the prologue knowing he sounds as if he's talking with a mouthful of marbles.

I'm still stoked for the film. I love Bale/Nolan's vision of Batman. Can't wait to see how they pull it all together.

I'm into the football destruction scene. That alone is worth the price of admission, and I'm sure the Tom Hardy issue will get sorted in ADR.

Nothing can be done about Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, though. Pity.

I'm not impressed with that trailer. It doesn't set up the story so much as show off the special effects and big name cast members. I don't follow the comics, so I don't know who Bane is. I couldn't understand Tom Hardy, but worse than that, I couldn't see his face! I'll still see the movie because I'm invested in the story, but that was a bad trailer, IMO.

I didn't watch Batman cartoons or read the comics, so I don't know who Bane is either. Had I known that this character wears a mask on his head, I wouldn't feel so bad after watching the trailer. I mean, who covers Tom Hardy's face? I'll probably still watch it, though.

I like them, too, but I agree about the inability to hear dialogue in his movies. My husband and I often use The Dark Night to fall asleep because the audio is so muddy it's soothing (until the next explosion).

I can't see the trailer from work but I saw the prologue yesterday and Tom Hardy's dialogue was incomprehensible. I am stunned that there wasn't a single person either on the production or from the studio to get that fixed before releasing it to the public.
