My enthusiasm for this has really dwindled in the last few weeks. Nolan's Batman movies are just so grim and after enjoying The Avengers so much, I'm really not sure this is the superhero movie I'm in the mood for. I'll still see it, because it's an 'event' movie and I'm a sheep, but I don't expect it to be much fun.

I think I'm kind of the same way. The whole shooting just made my mood even darker.

I liked it but definitely thought the second film was the best. I'm someone who wasn't that familiar with Bane, and mostly looked forward to the gadgetry and fight scenes. Loved JGL though, and there are some cool reveals.

The press here in the UK are already making links between the violence in the film and the violence of the attack. Although I never agree when people blame movies/music/video games for real-life acts, I think what's happened could make viewing TDKR kind of uncomfortable for a while. (Not that that's at all important right now, but it did cross my mind.)

Wasn't there supposed to be some urban legend that if you saw some movie (don't know what the movie was) you go insane?
I liked the second one and really had no intention of seeing this one, but I probably will; in reality this tragedy could have happened at a showing of one of the Lethal Weapon movies, or one of the Saw movies.

Oh, totally. It's just TDKR is going to have this association with it for a little while.

(Not that that's at all important right now, but it did cross my mind.) When I saw The Dark Knight a real life fight broke out in the movie theater I was in right during one of the more violent scenes in the movie. The police were called, the movie was stopped for half an hour while it was sorted out. Now I don't think the fight was connected in any way to that specific movie, it was just a couple of pepople fighting over a cell phone. But it did taint my perception of the movie. I couldn't enjoy the fake violence on screen right after witnessing the real violence in person. I know it had nothing to do with the movie but I just have had no desire to rewatch it since then. And obviously that was just a minor incident compared to a mass shooting. I can't say I really want to see this one either. Not because of my experience with the second one or the tragedy although that doesn't help. I am just completely burnt out on superhero movies right now.

That's how I felt about Spider-Man. I had a chance to see it for free and just...couldn't deal with another one.
I just read about the shooting, that's horrible!

I'm seeing it. Not going to let some jackass with issues taint my enjoyment of the film. I'm not enthusiastic about the movie like I was with the Avengers, but I want to see the series concluded.

Me too, tonight. It's not going to be as much fun as The Avengers, but I want to see the trilogy conclude. Though I prefer my action movies with some humor and lightness. A la "Iron Man".
