I really noticed that in the scenes with Gotham's police force. I saw no women cops at all. I saw one in the scene where the cops are rushing at Bane's army down the street, but it was a blink-and-you'll-miss-her deal. Nolan has never had much use for female characters in his movies. They either die very quickly, are dead to begin with, are duplicitous bitches, or Ellen Page. I was amazed by how much screen time Hathaway got. Yeah, I really liked Hathaway but was not at all surprised by how little screentime she got (which was still a lot for being a woman in a Nolan film). I thought>> the Talia reveal was way less striking because, yeah, women are duplicitous bitches is one of Nolan's only uses for them. It wasn't as surprising as it could have been. The character was poorly used prior to that.

I finally saw this today and LOVED all the cameos - I think even one of Hardy's costars from his Heathcliff days put in an appearance! I also loved the little reveals. The strange stabs at humor from Batman were out of place - since Nolan has always portrayed Batman as OH SO SRS, it's usually Bruce getting the cynical laughs. Oh, and more Tom Hardy, please.

Wait, where were all the cameos besides Scarecrow? And how did people figure out JGL? I turn my brain off in movies in a way I never do for TV; I don't try to figure out anything. I did think the love scene could've been ahem, longer. I'd been spoiled to the broken back scene, so I was expecting that to be the ending, so was reeeallly glad it wasn't.

I saw this movie last night, and the one thing that really irritates me is the lack of a decent and/or realistic motivation for the villain in this film. Why would the villain go through all of this bullshit to kill themselves and everyone around? What's the point? The explanation given was so unsatisfying and left me feeling, "WTF?! That was lame!"

I really enjoyed it. I didn't think it was as good as TDK, and it kind of felt like it was 11 hours long, but it was a worthy and epic follow-up. Gary Oldman rawked, and I was completely unspoiled and unsuspecting about the Robin twist, which I enjoyed.
I also enjoyed William Devane's cameo as the President. I last remember him as the Secretary of Defense on 24, so I thought it was funny to see him get fictionally promoted. I also enjoyed Cillian Murphy's cameo, he looked like he was having a blast.

Here's a good link I found listing most of them (with pics), seeing as how most of them are H!ITG!s so pictures help more than names. Cameos! The Wuthering Heights connection, which pleased me greatly.

I still have my little girlhood crush on Matthew Modine. He has gotten older by I still hear Madonna's Crazy for You when he first came on the screen.

Why would the villain go through all of this bullshit to kill themselves and everyone around? What's the point? The explanation given was so unsatisfying and left me feeling, "WTF?! That was lame!" I just saw this movie and that is what I thought. However, I liked it better than TDK even though I have this irrational dislike of Tom Hardy; I don't know what it is, I liked him in the Star Trek movie he did and when he was in Band of Brothers; but for some reason every time I see him I get this "Major Douchebag" vibe from him. Irrational I know and I also didn't like his voice, YUK, he sounded like he was doing a bad Darth Vader impersonation and his voice was also about 10000 decibels louder than everybody else's voice. And what the heck was under that mask? I liked Anne Hathaway too; she's come a long way from those Disney movies. It was nice to see Matthew Modine, and I don't know if Cillian Murphy's scenes were intentionally funny but I laughed out loud when he was on screen. And I loved how Gotham City kept switching between New York and Chicago. And I also loved that Hans Zimmer did the music. ETA, just took a look at the cameos, and YAY, two people from The Wire were in the movie and the HOT Daniel Sunjata....YUM... And though I didn't see it this way some interesting takes on the movie.
