I've been hate-watching this show pretty much just for the musical numbers, but I fricking LOVED the Bollywood number. So adorable, great dancing, great staging, the song was catchy... and for the first time I felt real chemistry between Dev and Karen. They looked/sounded/danced great together. They've always been a big bland spot in the show, but if the writers can tap into some of the magic from that Bollywood scene, maybe they can make them a believable couple.

Hee! I didn't know there was a name for what I'm doing. I, too, am hate-watching it. The Bollywood number made me take notice, too--I was glad they gave Raza Jaffrey something to do other than roll his eyes at Karen, and I loved the little vignettes with the other characters (Eileen and her flame canoodling while Ellis snitches the jewelry, Ivy eating grapes, etc.).

That happened so quickly, you could almost miss it. Kinda like Ellis.
I watched the Bollywood scene again, and I do like it. I'm thrilled they gave Raza something to do, too. And he's a good singer! It was interesting how they incorporated all the stories into the scene.

I think Karen's going to do The Nice Thing and volunteer Ivy to play Marilyn. I know they derided the Ashley Judd/Mira Sorvino TV movie, but I think they should just share the role. Have Karen play Norma Jean/early Marilyn and Ivy can play messed up movie star on the decline MM. |

I've actually been thinking that since the beginning of the season. Every time they'd show that retrospect scene with the different women in boxes it gave me the idea. I don't really read spoilers for this show, but it makes me wonder if they'll actually end up doing that. Plus, what Ivy and Dev did was so beyond wrong. And then to lose the engagement ring in Ivy's hotel room? Ugh. What happened to the scenes that they showed leading up to the finale where Uma was saying, "I want Karen fired!"? Isn't she completely done with her story arc now? (and please tell me that the creepy Ellis will be gone for good.) |

I remember that, Spinderella, and there was also a shot of someone calling for help in the rehearsal room, yet we never saw either of those scenes.
The teaser for the upcoming episode did show Anjelica firing Horrible Ellis, so we can still hope for that.
And I agree that it makes the most sense to split the lead into Norma Jean / Marilyn. They just don't seem to want to go that route.
According to EW.com, the show won't be back until after the New Year.
