I am not convinced that I can rock the gray, so dye for me. I even kept it up myself during lockdown because whenever I caught a glimpse of it in the mirror, I was all, “Oooooooh, no. Just…no.”
On the haircuts, Rene’s Thomas Crowne hair is probably the most dated (90s shag - but maybe you can bring it back! It’s about time for it to come around again), but Gwynnie’s short bob is super cute, as is Ally McBeal’s longer bob. If you’re afraid you don’t have enough hair, mousse does wonders. I have pretty fine hair but back in the 90s I had Gwynnie’s short bob and mousse helped me pull it off.

A friend of mine dyed her hair a very subtle bluish violet recently, and it looks lovely. In some lights, it's not actually all that different from her natural gray, but you get these pretty highlights.

I had Meg Ryan's "You've Got Mail" choppy cut in the late '90's and loved it. Like Kostgard, I have fine hair, but this cut gave it a lot of texture.

I went blonde years ago and it's great. I have no plans to change. I also have a short cut (I have had short hair most of my adult life.) My cut is pretty sassy so the color and cut combo shaves 10+ years off of me.

My mother, her mother, and her aunt all have/had the most gorgeous thick white hair, and I would kill for mine to turn white like theirs. Mine, however, is the muddy brown of my father, which suited him much, MUCH better than it suits me (people have started asking me if I've been ill. Seriously.). As soon as I'm ready to sit still long enough to have "my blondeness renewed", I'll go see Karla for a color and cut.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I am able to admit to myself that Rene looked fabulous in that movie but there is no amount of mousse that will make my hair look like that, or make me look like her. I have tried the Ally McBeal cut in the past and it actually worked pretty well so that's probably where I will end up again. But there is this as another contender.... Beth Reisgraf in Complications Not only do I have very fine hair, it is also thin and curl resistant. So heated implements just sort of fry my ends.

You may be able to rock a short bob if you want - I think the way it is cut can make your hair seem thicker, but your stylist will obviously know a lot more than me. Your most recent option is really cute too. I’ve considered something similar myself. On Rene’s cut - I’m genuinely surprised it hasn’t come back in some way. That shag (very similar to The Rachel) is just so iconically 90s I’m just surprised it hasn’t been revived.

Hoping this is the right thread to post a swimsuit sizing question.... I don't currently own one, and haven't bought one since I can't remember when. Not sure about how to do sizing for one. The ones I've looked at online either come in S, M, L etc, or number sizes.
I'm sort of between sizes though. I'll wear a size small in tops but usually an 8 in dresses. I'm not that well endowed on top (I wear a 34B bra) so want to avoid the top hanging loose or big gaps, while also making sure the bottom part is not tight or uncomfortable. I prefer a one piece, not a 2 piece (which would be super unflattering since I don't currently have a flat stomach). (But I don't want a frumpy skirted swimsuit either.)
Basically, does it make sense go with a size small/6 or medium/8?

I think your best bet is to read reviews of the specific suit you want to evaluate stretch and size range but I will offer that I am generally a size six on the bottom and that usually gets me to a medium in bikini bottoms. Except at Target, where I find the vanity sizing to be flatteringly insane. Mostly I wanted to note: it sounds like you are a size smaller in the breast/waist area than you are in the hip area? I am similarly shaped and I have never successfully found a one-piece that accommodates the different proportions--even ones where the top has a tie and (theoretically) could be made tighter, I find that it just doesn't look right. So if you're really wanting to cover your stomach I would aim more for tankini or high-waisted bikini bottoms rather than a one-piece.

I think you are right, I should probably start looking at high-waisted tankinis. I don't think I've seen too many high waisted bikinis. Thanks for your help!
