Yeah, their love scenes may seem intense, but their love affair? Toxic. Shockingly so. The couple's argument about fidelity with Olivia outside talking to Fitz was a little too on the nose for me. But I liked seeing Huck almost smile that one time.

I am having a hard time understanding why Olivia and others rigged the election for Fitz. The guy is about as competent as W with slightly less extreme views.

Clearly Mini-Carrie Bradshaw's dad didn't think the Carrie Diaries was going to be renewed (it has), so he planted himself smack dab into the deep story of the show. I had a feeling that Charlie wasn't aware of anything and that the former district attorney was just keeping his personal enemies close.

What a doozy of an episode. I'm just pissed we have to wait until September! The White Hats are most definitely back on!

I have to rewatch to get the lowdown on Billy Chambers. I don't remember characters as well when I marathon a show, this one in particular, with so many characters. The end reveal was shocking to me. My only gripes is the use of 'gladiator' in every single episode (WE GET IT) and those quick camera shots, which give me headaches. I have to close my eyes if I feel a scene change coming.

Also, poor, poor, awful Mellie. This whole gang has issues.

Fitz is a weak, weak man. And I'm just glad they didn't drag on the whole mole thing into the next season. But DAYMN for that final scene! Shit.

Lisa Kudrow joins the cast for season three

Random! I don't know how I can picture her on this particular show. She just doesn't quite fit from what I've seen of her in real life and on other shows/projects.

I hope this isn't going to ruin the aesthetic of the show. Time will tell.

So I'm binge watching this show on Netflix and trying to remain unspoiled. I'm only about 1/3 of the way through season 2, but I have to ask -- is Fitz supposed to be likable? Based on my friends that watch this show and talk about it on Facebook I thought Olivia and the President were supposed to be in this great love affair, but Fitz just seems like a giant dick to me so far.

I do love Olivia's clothes.

"Olitz" has an intense following, but the opinion that Fitz is an indecisive dick with control issues is also fairly prevalent among Scandal watchers. I do think Shonda wants viewers to like the character for the most part, or at least find him compelling. But IIRC, she's also said something like, in another show, Fitz would be the pretty girl all the male characters are trying to save, and characters like that can often be annoying.

Fitz is most definitely an asshole, but good lord, the chemistry between him and Olivia. I know that they're completely toxic, but their push/pull gets so intense, I forget my hatred sometimes.

Agreed - Olivia & Fitz together is unnatural, but I've had a crush on Tony Goldwyn since around Ghost (and think it's so interesting he's one of the G's from MGM). His actual wife looks normal-ish (as opposed to Hollywood glam), and I think that makes it easier to plop Olivia in her place.
