I just saw it and loved it. Total cheesecake, but guys get eye candy every freakin' movie they see! I'm owed a male stripper movie once a decade. Those dudes are in mega shape, God bless 'em. No huge political statements but hotties everywhere. Thank youuuu, Channing.

This was surprisingly good. I have to give Channing Tatum a lot of credit. He was really good in this, and I don't mean the dancing. Which was exceptional, btw.

Is it really "the Citizen Kane of stripping movies"? I know absolutely nothing about the plot, other than lots of hot guys stripping. But once I heard there was no full frontal, I bailed. Way to wuss out guys.

Well, Citizen Kane=interesting use of perspective, angles and lighting, and there was plenty of all of that. The story was deeper than I expected, and I thought it actually had a nice touch. There was silence when there could have been annoying exposition, and there was character development.
There were boobies, there was plenty of bum shots, and lots of cupped wang, and there were a few peekaboo peen shots: Channing at the very beginning, for example. There was also a teacup piglet.
Overall, I liked it more than I expected to.

It was really entertaining, but I wanted more stripping scenes. It seemed like they always cut away when it was starting to get good. I was hoping there would be some big extra number over the credits or something, too.
Matthew McConaughey was totally made for his role. I mean, he just really sold that. It was hilarious.

It's a deeper movie than just a movie about beefcakes stripping. It's really about the choices you make when you don't have that many choices in life. It has some similar themes to Boogie Nights about working in the sex/fantasy industry. While the movie audience goes INSANE for the strippers, the viewing audience could see more of the cheesiness and mechanics and manipulative choreography in their work. And yet Soderbergh never seems to be judging them. He's just observing them. It gives an underlying sadness to the story.
BUTT there's a lot of beefcake, and some boobies for the straight guys. And the guys look damn good. Those Nestle Crunch a Bunch probably did not help me get those abs.
Channing was really good, and exudes charisma. His Alabama Southern charm is similar to MacConaughey's Texas Southern charm in A Time to Kill.

I saw it and loved it. MM was just hilarious, he was born to play that role. I thought the weakest link was the Cody Horn. She cannot act to and her line delivery was awful, plus her mannerisms bugged the crap out of me. I was not surprised to learn that her dad is an entertainment exec.
But the male actors were great. And while the supporting cast did not say much (they seriously had very little dialogue); I thought Bomer, Rodriquez, et al were good.
As for Tatum, I never got his appeal before this movie. But I can see now why people think he is hot. I gotta say, he has a great body and the man can dance like nobodies business. He was by far the best dancer in the cast. Him and Bomer, who is just so damn pretty.

I thought Cody Horn was too young looking for that role.
I wanted a little more about the "real life", what happens after they get off the stage. Like when Joe Mangiello's (sp?) character hurt his back after lifting that heavy woman. Talk about a workers comp injury. And given his love of making custom made furniture, I would have liked to see a scene of him creating that art at least once. Still, I liked it lot.
