Plot

Veteran stripper Magic Mike (Tatum) teaches a new stripper (Pettyfer) about the occupation. They work at the club Xquisite, which is owned by the former stripper Dallas (McConaughey).

Production

Magic Mike is directed by Steven Soderbergh based on a screenplay by Reid Carolin, who is also one of the film's producers. The film stars Channing Tatum, and the screenplay is in part based on Tatum's experiences as a stripper in Tampa, Florida when he was 19 years old. The project was announced in April 2011, and after Soderbergh cast Tatum and Pettyfer in the lead roles, Carolin spent time revising the screenplay. The project was co-financed by Soderbergh and Tatum. Filming began in Tampa in September 2011 and wrapped by late October.

Warner Bros. Pictures acquired US distribution rights to the independently produced film on October 27, 2011 and scheduled it for a June 29, 2012 opening. It is also scheduled for a July 26, 2012 opening in Australia.

Lindsay isn't in it, Wiki's just unreliable. She really annoyed Soderbergh with her behavior and was replaced.

I think the trailer is lame but I've heard really good things about the script, plus mancandy galore, so I'm there.

The first trailer was not good, but the newer trailers have made it look a lot more fun. I just think, as Good Greecies, that we should be supporting male nudity as much as possible. Therefore, I will be there.
